Definitely see the brittleness of the one you described. Even a gentle removal of the tray when empty illicits a crackling sound. The Spigen one ended up shipping before I could cancel so I have all 3 to compare to.
Just to recap, the BestEVmod tray (I've had two, same issues) ends up sliding...
In a year, I've gone through two BestEVmod center console organizers. Over time, their tolerances start to shrink and it becomes nearly impossible to actually pull the organizer out. It ceases to remain level in its setting. I just found the Spigen center console organizer on Amazon and I'm...
1. WHY ARE THERE BACKUP LINES ON THE REAR CAMERA WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY???
2. WHY DOES THE CAMERA VIEW CHANGE (DEFAULT) TO THE FRONT WHEN I EXPLICITLY HAVE THE SETTING TOGGLED NOT TO DO THAT???
3. WHERE ARE MY GEOFENCED FOLDING MIRRORS???
That was cathartic, thank you.
I think it's all a moot point until the manufacturer allows driver abdication. GM, Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, behind the scenes MobileEye, whatever; until they are confident enough their systems can allow for liability to be on them, what's the point really? I'd rather not be the learning curve until...
That's kinda my point. They certainly won't sell them at a loss so they'll have to sell them at a profit. And that for-profit price is going to be more than what we all thought. Which then kicks the can down to R3 as their saving grace with R2 getting them to break-even until then.
More updates. I started looking into the issue of bass roll-off. I took this problem for granted back in 2014 because I used an LC2i as an LOC. I don't think I fully realized it also happened to deal with bass roll-off on the non-premium Model S sound system. Which is why it always sounded so...
Very much louder. In fact, I decided to finally use the remote bass knob that I orignally didnt think was necesary. It was another tight fit to get the wire snugged up under the trim, but yet another testament to a good build quality from Rivian that everything was designed to fit togther well...
Time for another update. In an attempt to make the bass more uniform across volume level and music genre, I'm going to install a NVX XLCA2X which is similar in function to a LC2i (original bass roll-off line output converter). An added benefit of the XLCA2X is that it will do remote amp turn on...
I was doing some tests today by cranking up my subwoofer (NVX vadm1 amp), and monitoring the 12v voltage from the RIDE screen. There didn't seem to be any noticable sag in voltage as it hovered between 13.51 and 13.55.
Which honestly makes a good amount of sense since it's only 200watts...
I'm my experience, quality audio always comes down to, first and foremost, speakers playing the sounds they were designed for.
Second place, sound absorbtion of materials (you don't want echos), and sound dampening (you don't want rattles).
Speaker quality, copper windings, ohm resistance...
I'm only running a single 10" in a sealed enclosure, so I just tapped the 12v cig outlet in the rear (it's switched with the car). The nameplate says 180watts max, and rough napkin math puts it at 200watts (13.5v @ 15amps). It was easy in the sense that there was less wire to run, and less...
