Remember, people have been doing this with Tesla since it started. People were calling Tesla a fake/foreign car company right up until it became the most valuable car manufacturer in the US.
The truth is probably somewhere between your post and the one you quoted. Tesla's recent products are definitely behind schedule, but there's not really any reason, given Tesla's track record, to expect the CT to be an imaginary product. Hell, the Rivian I have on order - the R1T Max Pack - is...
I thought I saw somewhere a few weeks ago that some Max Pack order holders have been contacted by guides, but that the expectation was still that they'd be delivered in 2023. Let me see if I can find that thread...
Edit: Here it is.
I solved this problem in my Tesla by buying a seatbelt extender. Much easier than messing with the brake / go pedal at the same time. I'd imagine this will also work in the Rivian, but I can't verify as I don't have one yet.
It sold on Friday, but it wasn't disclosed until AH. So the news of the sale hasn't hit the market yet.
For comparison's sake, the news of the first Ford sale hit the market last Monday, but the first sale didn't actually happen until Tuesday. In that case, the news had more of an impact on...
Welp, looks like Monday might be another buying opportunity. https://www.wsj.com/articles/ford-unloads-further-7-million-shares-in-electric-vehicle-startup-rivian-11652536603
Welp, looks like my initial skepticism was correct - thanks all. It's annoying when people who work for a company know less about their product / delivery than people on the internet.
I'd like to see someone color match (either photoshop or in real life) the Lightning's front "grille" to the body color. I suspect that it'll look a lot better that way.
I did my First Mile test drive the other day and the Rivian employee mentioned that the company only does First Mile events with reservation holders who are expected to start the delivery process "s00n." I'm skeptical of that claim because (a) my reservation was made in late 2021, (b) my...
I'm unbelievably lucky to live 15 minutes from a service center, even though I don't live on a coast. Now if only they could start producing the max pack...
Question for you intellectuals: did Ford *actually* sell their shares yet? I thought the news yesterday was that they were planning on unloading 8%, not that they'd done it yet. But I'm seeing conflicting headlines now.
That, my friend, is the aforementioned "argument that could be made." I'm just saying that, from a non-M&A specialist's perspective (and looking in from the outside), I think a buyout from an existing car company with a demonstrated interest in EVs makes more sense than a buyout from Amazon.
