Someone smarter answer this for me but while this "bump step" will help protect your car when it's getting rear ended, an actual car accident will be made worse because all the energy is essentially being transferred through the frame and not the crumple zones?
Yup, I'd be annoyed with how your vehicle was left but moreso concerned with the quality of workmanship. I'd be downright livid with the communication for putting in a refurbished pack without giving me options for a truck that's essentially brand new.
I've been complaining about this since my delivery in April. The horn is too weak, in terms of pitch, to get the attention of a distracted driver. IMO, needs the second lower register. Shouldn't be hard to get an aftermarket horn but it sure is annoying to have to do this to a $100k truck.
I have a similar problem and changed the battery a couple of times to make sure it wasn't the batteries. Had mobile service out today to take a look. They changed the battery but also said the FOB was weirdly dropping voltage causing this. There was a software update like 6 months ago
Agree. In a safe and controlled environment, everyone should push their cars/trucks to see how they react in certain situations. I grew up in Minnesota so every time it first snowed for the year, I'd go out to a parking lot and do donuts and such to remind myself where the limits of my car were.
Wipers every 6 months, cabin filter probably yearly. I just learned from a tech that the ethylene glycol in the quad motor system used for cooling should be flushed every 8 years/120,000 miles.
Agreed. I think the dual motor is very significant for Rivian to stay viable but the Quad motor was necessary to get them into the market and all the different drive modes are fantastic. I can't rave enough about rally mode for hooning around town.
I figured that a manual tonneau would be more robust than a powered option
The video makes it seem like a whole different product. I agree that folks should have read the owners guide, called customer service, e.t.c. instead of pushing on random stuff but at the same time...it's some flat...
When I was configuring my truck, the choices were the 20" and underbody package or other sized tires. Immediately after configuring my truck, I asked my guide for access to the R1 shop but never got the option. Was matched with a VIN about a week later.
