I’m fine losing my azz in the stock Price. However, I’m not fine losing it on a vehicle that potentially would have no more parts, service, software updates etc. potentially selling because I’m extremely risk averse with this particular asset.
WTF does that even mean? Should people not be concerned if their vehicle is losing 35-50 percent of their range in cold weather? I never would flinch if it was lower and in line with usual battery issues in the cold, but based on what I’ve seen lately, I wanted to share with others. This is much...
Wife went out for just over an hour today (maybe drove 40 miles?), and I made sure she preconditioned for 30 minutes prior to departure. She took this photo when she was pulling back into our hood.
temps are 10 degrees warmer than yesterday.
So do you guys charge to 100 when it’s cold then? I barely made it to work/back then the airport/back one day, and it was a total of 105 miles when I started the day at 80/233 miles.
no, when it’s cold outside. My whole diatribe here is about losing 50 percent range in cold weather, even when pre conditioning. I was surprised to hear Rivian tell me just now I should expect a range of 150/50 percent reduction in cold temps.
When it’s warm, I’m at a respectable 2.1-2.3.
that’s why I’m posting what I’m posting. Perhaps something is up with my vehicle? I’m reporting a 47 percent loss and roughly .50 lower mile/kwh. Even after pre conditioning.
Something must be wrong with my rig, because I have pre conditioned 3 times now, and each session has ended up with 47 percent range reduction and roughly a 1.19-1.31 rate.
Huh? We love it but are terribly bummed we have lost 50 percent range in the cold. Should we not worry about that? I’m just here to help others out with my experiences given we are all in the same boat.
Im not following. I started at 233 and ended at 94 after driving 66 miles. 139 reduction. Are you saying I should ignore the gauge and keep driving because I’ll get 130 from it?
so far after three tests preheating the vehicle for ~20 each time, the range calculation have shown an approximate...
Evening trip to the local pub for dinner during the Bill/steelers game.
8 miles round trip. Pre-heated vehicle for 20 minutes at home before we left, and again the last 20 minutes at the pub before we came home.
Range went from 118 to 90. 28 miles lost over an 8 mile round trip. ?
Today’s trip shows that while the temps are brutal (zero here in KC), the range hits are even more brutal.
starting range: 80 percent/233 miles
Pretrip battery warming: yes
Miles driven: 66
Ending range: 32 percent / 94 miles
139 miles of range for 66 actual miles.
YIKES.
