Just did this and don't have anything mounted yet. Plan to mount some recovery boards later. I'll report back but it will be a while. The good news is that the long top pieces are like a 1 minute job to redo if they get torn up. Also, they do not wrap all the way to the edge where things screw...
I drove a loaner, 22LE, and it wasn't anywhere close to as grabby as my 24. There is definitely variation. My 24 feels like you have to break through a wall before it'll move.
Personally, I would not post "i'm at fault" out in the public and ask insurance to review if the truck merging is at fault (from the video).
As for everyone here throwing the book at OP, relax, you're not his DAD!
I still think the Tri is appealing. Where Rivian screwed up is pricing the Dual Motor Performance within striking distance of the Tri. You can see all the current incentives are targeted at the DM Performance. I see no reason to get this model, especially since you have to be in lowered sport...
Came here to say this. I'll add that I compared G1 to G2 in the showroom and they seemed identical. Now it's possible that recent updates have better optimized the G2 systems as a whole, since other than the infotainment board, everything else is different. I imagine the software varies quite a bit.
I've had one experience and it was also positive. Lucky to get a loaner and they did a good bit of work (tonneau install and a bunch of small fixes) in a week. Communication in setting things up was slow, but the work was fast. Maybe I got lucky?
Lived here my whole life and that's completely untrue.
OP, communications with the Atlanta SC are a black hole. If you're close enough, the best move is to go there in person and talk face to face. They're friendly, just swamped. Be kind and persistent and you may get some movement. I've heard...
This is a great thread, been following closely. Would remind/ask people to state their model (R1T or R1S) when they post about what PN's they have. Key info and it's hard to go back and keep track.
I'm sitting at 1.82 with about 1k miles. For comparison, I was at 2.35 with the 21's and stock tires in the summer. 2 big caveats:
1. Temps dropped right around installation time.
2. I discovered setting stability to "reduced" locks the rear motors on all the time and I've been driving that way...
Yeah it's all relative, the throttle could definitely be punchier. When I forget to switch stability to reduced I certainly notice it. To me that small reduction in delay makes it a lot more pleasant to drive.
I made a video on how to fix the laggy throttle on Dual Motor in all purpose mode. Many of you may already know this but I was happy to discover it so I thought I'd share. To put simply, it involves driving with stability "reduced" which forces the rear motor to stay connected.
Made a quick video of my dog setup and included measurements for prospective buyers. Not sure if this is the right spot for this post, feel free to move it if needed.
My solution has been to drive in "stability reduced" mode. It locks the rear motors on and makes it much nicer to drive. Rivian really needs to offer a fixed AWD mode for dual motor non performance.
I drove a Quad loaner and that thing had zip, it was much more enjoyable. So much so that I'm...
In high school I worked at a used Porsche dealership. We had an 80's turbo 911 with carburetor issues that I had to park in the showroom between other high end Porsches. The engine had 2 speeds, idle or redline. Combine that with a clutch that was hinged at the floor, it was exciting. Parking my...
Could you take a full vehicle side view, zoomed out a bit?
It is a lot of bare sidewall, which isn’t my style. No surprise they ride well, I think these will be the best riding tire for Rivian’s. They take bumps well?
