Fortunately, no. My wife left the house first, and called me about it on her way to work. It's seriously maybe half a block, and if you've seen my wife drive you'd know that even as quick as the Rivian is, nobody would've had time to jump in it after she left, pass her, and have a wreck.
I don't know for sure that he's evil, but since I'm good I assume he's the evil one.
My friends will text me once or twice a week that they saw me somewhere that I wasn't.
I finally saw the other white R1S, roof racks, same wheels and tires, but sadly it got into an apparent disagreement with...
I tend to agree with you, even if they don't have a significant update, communication is important, even if it's just "we're still working on it."
Communication is -not- Rivian's best attribute.
Having complained about that, I did just get an email that says, in effect, "We're aware of the...
Not trying to be pedantic, but I don't think that link supports your assertion.
The link -does- confirm that vehicle thefts are more common in that part of the world, but carjacking and theft are two different things-carjacking is a violent crime, a subset of armed robbery. Vehicle theft is a...
Tesla can easily control which cars (even which Teslas) can charge at a given supercharger. While they have agreed to open up a significant chunk of their network, they are under no obligation to open them all.
"Salvage" titled Teslas are unable to supercharge, unless they have been inspected...
You're exactly right. I think I tend to write "NACS" when I mean "V3 superchargers" to avoid some of the anti-Elon vitriol that bubbles up when you mention Tesla on this site.
It appears (based on the EA app) that 3/4 of the EA chargers at the only Memphis site are now up for the first time...
There is a Tesla supercharger in the same parking lt that went offline during the same storm.
Tesla had it up and working in a day, and while it was down there are two other supercharger sites in town so it was never a big problem.
Once we have NACS access I'll go back to using the Rivian for...
This. In my city (Memphis) we went from one mostly functional 100kw+ charger last year to zero this year, in a city with 1.2 million people living in the MSA along the most traveled east-west corridor in the country (I-40). The I-40/I55 interchange just west of Memphis carries more traffic...
This.
The current infrastructure is too sparse, and there's little or no redundancy.
I've been unable to buy gas at my most frequent ICE stop (dozens of people parked at the pumps, inside getting food or whatever while there's a line for the pumps) but just went a few miles to the next exit...
Hmm, good catch.
I'll look for that, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it at night too. My garage is fairly bright during the day--I have a window right next to my parking space.
Me too--I back into my garage and the rear camera will freeze briefly at the exact time I want it most.
It doesn't do it every time, but probably at least 50%. At home is the only place I've noticed it so the WiFi thing makes sense.
I'd been attributing it to an overloaded processor, since...
I think that strategy makes the most sense for Tesla--it's "free" revenue from underutilized chargers, less likely to annoy or inconvenience current owners, and opens up routes that currently aren't feasible for most CCS cars.
The $80K price cap is in the "new" rules which were signed into law at the end of august last year IIRC.
If you signed a binding agreement before the law was signed, the old rules, without a price cap, applied.
I like both, they're easy to care for and I think they look good.
They're good choices in a hot climate, and far easier to keep clean and polished than dark colors in my experience.
Silver is probably the easiest to maintain, the white (which I have) shows dust pretty quickly.
I can ignore...
My experience is a bit limited (I bought the Rivian, my first CCS car, in March 2023) but the reliability of the EA network seems to be declining. My first long trip, from Detroit to Memphis, I found about 50% of the 350kw cabinets working like they were supposed to (220kw for the Rivian) and...
I was able to charge at the Bergstrom Toyota dealership in Oshkosh during the Airshow--I called and spoke to the manager while sitting at the Piggly Wiggly in Beaver Dam , WI. The chargers at the Piggly Wiggly were both dead (except for some level 2 at I think 6kw). The "official" word is that...
They charged my R1S to my normal "daily" limit of 76%
We actually discussed it at some length when I dropped it off--I drove a Tesla model S for eight years prior to the Rivian, and have been pretty OCD about the. battery.
The Tesla, which is still in the family but now lives in Austin, TX...
