Recent Hagerty article (link below). With my time on / off this forum for the past couple years, I'd say the answer is 'no.' The Rivian Facebook groups are a general shitshow. They are repositories of "A hundred trolls and 33 stupid questions a day." The "Rivian Owners North America"...
Where do we park? How do we avoid blocking or taking two stalls? What's the typical layout for open SuperchargersAre the cords long enough? What other things should we do to be good charging citizens and avoid fistfights? Thought a discussion might be helpful for some. Diagrams and pictures...
When I took delivery of my R1T June 2022, the owners manual indicated the Shop Service Manual was available from Rivian upon request. At some point late 2022 or early 2023, that language was taken out. Did anyone ever get access to it or have it?
Back in the early days when there were no bed mat options, I made my own from a Black Armor Bedmat. See my post here. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/custom-fit-r1t-bedliner.9592/#post-228417
Now I have the BestEvMod mat and have no use for the Black Armor. Anyone wants it in...
I personally think LT tires are the way to go with this truck. Unless you're into drag racing and need an H rated tire..... Opens up the range of possiblities to chose a tire that suits your needs. Here is my choice for summer shoes for the R1T. Conti Terrain Contact A/T. It's a more road...
Nothing particularly earth shattering but....
1. I actually brought my truck back to life the night before by jumping the primary battery at the rear jump point for a minute. For whatever reason, that reset everything and by the time the tech arrived the next day the truck had fully charged...
Just did a 1,400 mile road trip with my truck. Loved it. Overall it was great experience and I was super impressed. Comfortable ride, no charging issues, EA stations worked flawlessly and even conservative Iowa with all it's windmills gave me free 150kw charging. Navigation sucks (for now)...
I bought a bunch of s#$t and mixed a bunch of stuff. A friend smelled the fluid and said "it's definitely got grain ethanol in it." So here's the formula:
Mixed hand sanitizer grade ethanol with water or blue juice of your choosing, add a splash of isopropyl alcoho to add a little "kick"...
And where can I get some? Just ran out on way to Home Depot and I'm gonna sooooo miss the smell. Any aftermarket solutions (pun) that replicate the smell? Home recipes?
An IMSA Daytona prototype looks hulking on TV. Then you see one in person and realize you can practically throw it under your arm and walk away. If you were Steve Austin. (Date that reference!)
The C8 corvette look terrible in pics, then you see one in real life and realize it looks even...
While it might not be useful to everyone....for me it's game changer. Thanks Rivian!
Earlier this year I had a bad racing accident where I faceplanted a car into a concrete wall at 110mph. (Video available if ya wanna see a grown man cry!) I now have 10 of 17 lumbar & thoracic vertebrae...
Maybe known already but... Stopped by local SC with a quick question today. Learned some interesting things along the way. Among them, a 10 second long push of the hazard button creates a vehicle diagnostic capture. See pic. It simply saves a diagnostic snapshot on the truck at that time...
Wasn't happy with a basic bedliner. So bought a 5x7 mat from Black Armour and cut-to-fit the R1T bed. Included link to mat and Sketchup file for the custom cut dimensions. Easy to do.....use a carpet knife to cut the rubber, use a straight edge, take your time & don't lose a finger! The...
Low probability shot in the dark here. Anyone in Minneapolis interested in splitting a new set of 20s? I have zero interest in the AT tires and just want a set of wheels for a proper winter tire setup. I'll buy the new set and sell the tires to you for $1400 (approx $250 discount to new)...
Apparently the R1T bed is made for the same material as synthetic ice skating rink tiles! Here is a cheap and easy solution to help keep things from sliding about with some decent rubber bed protection when you chuck things in there. Rubber, fairly think and heavy duty. Fits width-wise. Cuts...
[UPDATED 9/26/22]
While I don't tow everyday, it seems like I hitch something up to the R1T at least once a week. The cover is nice and I like to remove the hitch and replace the cover when I'm not towing. But it's a PIA to have to grab a screwdriver anytime it is removed and installed. That...
Almost nothing but..... There's always a "but." The passive entry phone functionality. I hate it! For the love of god,....please Rivian I implore you....if at all possible implement a touch entry system to supplant the passive phone app entry. If not for me, for future owners. You can do...
