Rivian does seem to be good at keeping things close to it's chest....this is an asset for sure. Makes me wonder what else is cooking right now....

More importantly, does VW have Apple CarPlay?

They do, but I highly suspect Carplay isn't long for the VW, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini's of this world. IMO, one reason they've supported Carplay is to overcome their infotainment center's weaknesses.

Agree, the reason isn't obvious. VW hovers around 7th or 8th in the US, selling more cars than BMW and Mercedes; the company is showing YOY growth, especially in EVS; the id4 and E-Tron are competitive vehicles, etc. Their software has issues but $5bn to fix?

Maybe an infrastructure play to co-produce in Illinois and/or Georgia?
