Could the big downloads after updating relate to offline satellite maps?

I don’t have connect + but have been in mountains with no cell service. Maps worked but routing new routes did not. Are satellite maps available offline?

Consider yourself lucky. I’m at 2.7 over the last 15 hours.

Any significant WiFi activity?
Yes! Got back from a trip Monday, using a lot of UHF, and I guess it dumped a ton of sample videos to the server for Rivian to analyze and train 🙄 As for overnight last night, and the others, not sure why it needs to upload 470 MB.

I am curious, did you complete the privacy settings? I got an email from Rivian on 12/9 that told me I need to " take a moment to review and confirm your current settings on the “Data and Privacy” screen of your vehicle’s settings menu. "

I have not taken that action yet. I wonder if Rivian is waiting for me to give them permission before using the data from my truck?

I don't have any significant traffic since my truck was updated on 12/21:

Left my Gen 1 R1S at home in the garage at 75% 8 days ago. It’s at 60% now. No gear guard on. That is a lot of drain.

Looks like your average is around 2% a day, which is what I saw when I left mine at the airport for 8 days. Not great.

An update on my issue:

A quick review from what I posted earlier:
* Immediately after installing .46 I got an error on the dash UI saying "Carry key card at all times, phone and FOB performance limited".
* I also saw huge battery drain while parked away from home.
* I also saw the vehicle rarely sleeping.

Dropped the truck off at the Minneapolis service center Friday morning at 9:00. They said to just hang-out, this should not take too long, probably just a phone pairing issue.........

At 11:00 they said, we are stumped. Have never seen this before. Here's a loner, we will give you a call.

At 12:30 got a call and they said the truck is ready.

1:00. Go to service center to pick it up. They diagnosed the problem as some of the truck's Bluetooth sensors for phone detection were not functioning. They reinstalled Bluetooth sensor software and truck is sleeping now. The faulty bluetooth sensors never trigged the error on the older software but did on the .46 and prevented the truck from sleeping. I also got a new 12V out of the deal.

Performance over the last 3 days much better. Truck sleeps now and does not experience nearly as much battery drain while parked.

This probably explains my poor phone as key experiences in the past.....

I’ve been noticing (since mid-December) more vampire drain with my 2026 R1S Quad (Max) lately - but I’m thinking the root cause is temperature transition of the battery and colder weather here in New England as of late and not specifically the .46 update.

I have been seeing a 3.5 - 3.7 kWh drop over the course of an hour or so after I park outdoors (currently in mid-20’s) at my office after my morning commute (about 20 miles one way). I park and charge overnight (to 70%) at home in a heated garage (55 degrees). Typically the battery is in the 60 to 70 Degree range when I leave my garage.

I also noticed last week (while in Maine on a 5 day ski trip) that the vampire drain wasn’t as bad on a daily basis, as the battery temp never got above 35 degrees for almost the entire week. The vehicle was constantly outside and I only DC Fast charged during the trip up and on the way home. We didn’t drive much at all - so not a lot of battery use.

I never notice more than a 2.0 kWh drop over the course of an entire work day since taking delivery (August 2025) until this December - when the colder weather settled in.

One bit of contrary data - my previous 2023 R1S Quad (Large) didn’t seem to have this much drain transitioning from a heated garage to cold weather parking lot. I had it for 2 full winters here in New England as well and can’t say I ever recall seeing a 3+ kWh drain over the course of a few hours.

Perhaps they quantify battery capacity changes due to thermal swings in the ”System Energy used by vehicle electronics”?

My Rivian wakes up for 2 hours exactly overnight, every night. Sometimes it starts shortly after midnight, sometimes it does around 4am, but for almost exactly 2 hours sometime overnight. I'm able to see this in the state timeline in Rivian Roamer.
