Thanks - good to know you got that sorted in time.

Went back through entire vehicle history today - looking for the condensate "drain valve" replacement. Apparently that didn't happen... wet carpet...

T manufacture date is March 13, 2023. First battery replacement (2nd battery) was January 31, 2024 @ 15,846 miles. The vehicle is recorded as being "unresponsive". The ingress towing bill was $1,764.50 (hang onto your wallet, RJ!). No dollar amount shown for the part or labor.

Second battery replacement (3rd battery) was March 17, 2025 @ 39,942 miles - this one "proactive". $160.00 labor (.08 hours), $239.99 for the battery. Customer pay $000.00. There's also a $20.00 "courtesy inspection" on that invoice. Pretty sure I paid $265.00 each for the 2 comprehensive inspections I had done.

I'm well past the 1 year mark on this battery, skating on very thin ice, I guess. The battery tender seems to be doing its job. While I have the trunk tub out to run wiring for a 12v outlet in the bed, I'll add leads for a NoCo charger / maintainer / fixer so I can just plug it into 120. Haven't decided where to leave the plug yet - kind of like the grill option - thinking that's better than the cowl.

This battery history is amazing!! I hope Rivian isn't paying more than a nickel or so for these things.
I ordered the Ohmmu batteries from Electruck4x4. Shipped out in two days and arrive on Thursday. BTW. The warning came back after about a week. I plan to reset one more time before I replace the batteries.
Update: Received the Ohmmu Sodium Ion batteries on Thursday which only weigh 5.5 lbs each. On Saturday I went into the RIDE menu and reset the warning. I then immediately replaced the secondary 12v battery followed by the primary 12v battery following the YouTube video from Ohmmu. The truck powered right up and everything was working. Did a full reset for good measure and so far all sensors, Level 2 charging and everything works perfect. Will test Level 3 in the next day or two.

I ended up locating the charger in the Frunk and I ran the 120v cord out the grill by the horn..

Thanks, Rob. I did see your post at some point - appreciate the link. I'll probably hook it up like my motorcycles - connect to the battery terminals, then run a NoCo extension cable out to the grill or by the tow hook. I have a few NoCo chargers that sort of hang out near where I park at home. That'll save me from using the power supply to OBD connection unless I'm traveling.

Between this battery issue and the AC condensate wet carpet thing, I'm a bit disappointed with Rivian. Laying off customer service reps and techs at this point doesn't help anything at all - well, maybe financially. A little bit.

Had mine done yesterday. You'd think pricing would be consistent across all of us Gen 1 owners, but it does not appear so. Original batteries from June 2022 delivery.
