14 day backlog at Gaithersburg SC

Just dropping off at Gaithersburg SC after a 3 month wait to address a number of issues from delivery (yes, they had to change locations…fine)

On drop off I get the “just forewarning, we are super backlogged and are telling folks at least 14 day’s minimum until your R1S might be back.”

Got a ICE rental from Enterprise so not so big of a deal but just trying to give some additional insight/data to those approaching a service appointment. Not a b!tch session, just data. Fun to see some of the DMV R1S’s here too.

Most SC’s are experiencing extreme backlog. Well documented here. The onsite wait after the appointment wait is like getting to your dr appt on time and then waiting in the lobby all day for your 8:00a first appt of the day.

But, as a recent positive data point, the Bellevue SC got me in and out in a week to resolve a few issues including a leaking half-shaft. I did have to wait 2 months for the appt though.

Running 2 shifts there seems like it’s starting to improve?

I had/have a similar issue with the Austin,TX service center. I had an appointment scheduled for more than 4 weeks. When I dropped the R1T off on Monday, I was told it would likely be 3-5 days before they even looked at it.

Why not just tell me to wait a few days and bring it in when they can work on it the same day? Rivian is providing me with a rental car. Dropping my R1T off and having it sit in their lot for a week is not doing me any good and it is costing Rivian $$ on rental cars.

Great… we are in Austin and I have like 10 things on my service ticket (which was booked 10 weeks out)… such BS.

Dropped off mine on the 14th at the Gaithersburg SC. They called yesterday still confirming a target date for delivery of Sept 1. According the truck location and other data in the app I'm pretty convinced my truck hasn't been looked at yet, even today. The location is the exact same parking spot, mileage is exactly the same, and the cabin temps hit 125-130deg regularly during the day.
