I'm installing 275/60-20 on my R1T tomorrow. I have 35K on my OEM ATs with an overall efficiency of 2.11 mi/kWh (according to the truck). It will be interesting to see what my new efficiency will be. I mainly drive all-purpose mode and like to drive a little faster than the speed limit.
definitely will be more efficiency going from 34" to 33" and from AT to AS.

Yes, I asked about the 275/65/20. And thats the response they gave me. I broke down and put the 275/60/20's on. I needed tires, were down to 5/32 and hated the road noise. Due to the road noise, i started disliking driving the Rivian. So had to make the change.
Weird how they didn’t mention the size you asked about then? Maybe a mistake?

I have a XC90 that needs new tires too. Looking forward to ridding the car of the OEM Pirellis and going to Michelin.

Do you have pics of what the R1 looks like with these tires on?

I'm going to need new tires for my R1T later this year or early next and am looking for where to go from here. I'm not going to take this thing off road any more than a normal dirt/gravel road so it doesn't have to be hugely capable. I would rather have something that's quiet, comfortable, and efficient.

That said, I did buy the AT's originally because they look a lot cooler than the road tires so curious how best to accomplish that task too. :p

These certainly are not as cool as A/Ts, but they are not horrible.

Here are some other pics. AT's look better but these are so smooth.

Unfortunate update. I looked on Michelin's website and still no sign of the 275/65R20 so I emailed them. They didn't say it's not coming, just there's no longer a date for it.

hmmm, grumble grumble. I'm definitely going to be ready come mid-fall. I can't say in the last 10 years or so I have found myself in a situation where there aren't a ton of tires to pick from for my vehicle.

I guess my panic buy would be the Michelin Platinums, but I still am not seeing good (or any really) reviews on snow performance. I don't need crazy snow performance, but would like above average.

Thanks for checking for us!

No problem, I’ll be sure to keep watching and update everyone once I know more.

I’m in Texas currently so snow performance isn’t an issue for me. I don’t want the platinum as they look worse in every way to the LTX M/S2’s aside from looks. Hopefully they will be coming out shortly!

I was seriously impressed by how well the M/S2’s performed in the snow in Tyre Reviews testing. Blew away some tires that had the 3PMSF. Obviously can’t match a dedicated winter tire but it’s good enough for mild winter use.

Yup, the defender M/S line really is the holy grail of all around tires. I just worry about snow because I suffered for years with stock Pirelli's on all of our new SUVs and cars and they were HORRIBLE in the snow (and rain). I always assumed it was the vehicles until I discovered I could turn out 2005 ford focus into snow conquering machine on my winter commutes with michelins.

... probably not worth worrying about since it doesn't seem to snow here in Northern VA anymore. We used to get a blizzard a year and several 6 inch storms, but haven't seen more than an dusting in the last few years :(

You can buy the 275/60/20 and update your software to the 21" wheels. Cheaper tires too.

Agreed, as a general purpose, do everything well with good mileage, it’s hard to beat them for SUV’s and pickups.

Then you have the Pilot Sports for high performance vehicles which are just phenomenal.

I wish this was the case but it isn't. I called the service line and they said it woudl be $140 to do this. I scheduled and it got cancelled because they told me they didn't have the ability to update the SW.

Service is all over the place on this topic, to the point of being comical and potentially hopeless.

Some here have gotten (or promised) OTA to change their tire config.
Some have paid $xxx to get it done - have heard #s over 200 in extreme cases
Some (inc. me) have gotten it for free during another service visit - mine now reads accurate but shows the wrong wheels in both interfaces
Some have been told it’s impossible

This is one area that Rivian truly needs to address, because it’s just so silly and yet simultaneously infuriating if you want accurate speed and mileage.

That's not correct. I've done it before, and I just had a buddy do it this week. We both paid $140 as well. You may have to push back a bit, but fight them on it and I can provide a screenshot if needed for you to show them.

I don't think the actual SC updates the software - they put in a request to Normal or wherever and they remotely send the update to the truck. It's ridiculous for $140 but whatever.

Would someone with these tires post pics from dead on front and back? My biggest concern is the narrow width looking awkward...
