2022.11.2 OTA Software Update!

Yeah, i'll capture the release notes once its done. The OTA update came actually on my phone as a notification. I was able to start it w/o even going out to the truck.

Have you noticed a difference in auto climate control? I know some were noticing in earlier software that the fan was aggressive and noisy

I thought i might be the first to receive this OTA update, so i took pics of the dash during install to post. Alas, others have beaten me to it.
Carwash and 500 Amp charge are very welcome. ANd passenger detection when driver gone (is that dog mode?) is great.
I'll submit other 3-week reactions in another post, now that the honeymoon is over. (spoiler alert: mostly great)

I hadn’t noticed any fan noise, and mostly use auto climate. So far haven’t observed any behavior changes in climate control.

I am hoping for an app update that enables more climate control options from your phone.

So they made tunein better in many of the displays.
Favorites look MUCH cleaner now:


They also seemed to add the commerical free stations but it still doesn't play them right. I honestly think this is more tuneins problem then rivian.

Tunein does this stupid thing where they have two stations for each station, one commerical free and one not. Android app let's you pick, rivian app doesn't.

They even added a "commerical free" section but it still plays commercials.

It's better, but still needs some fixing.

Car wash mode button and new gear guard alarm button... See picture for info... Guess there is a panic mode.

Some things got moved around on the charge screen.

Double tapping the speaker next to the passenger airbag mutes now. Not sure if it did that before.

Phone menu shows contacts pictures now.

I'm super curious on their update rollout strategy, deployment group selections.

Got the update. Main thing I noticed is UI on driver display seems smoother.

One thing I notice like so many other vehicles is the steering wheel hides the items I want to see. I put in a feature request for different configuration options. For instance, I would like to see the cruise speed at the lower center of the screen instead of the top center.

Same. Assuming they still maintain a constant current phase to about 50% and then transition over to a pseudo constant voltage phase above ~50% the increase from 450 to 500 amps really only results in a 2 minute savings from 0 to 50% in theory.

But it will be interesting to see how they're handling the transition down from 500A. Basically, how did they touch the curve above 50%, if at all? If they push the amperage up in the pseudo CV portion of the curve to intersect 500A at ~50% and smooth it out instead of having those stair steps that were above 50% that'd potentially save 5 minutes from 50 to 80% and about 10 minutes to 90%. I'd be great if they can push the curve out a bit further, but I don't expect that any time soon.

I know Kyle has said he plans to try and test the update with someone's truck that lives near him soon, so hopefully we get a good answer soon!
