Found a 2022 R1T with vin ending in: 015425

As I go down the rabbit hole a lot of people seem to say the ending vin corresponds to build date and may or may not be a good idea to move forward. This one has 32,000 miles and is 52.5k out the door. I believe it's still under warranty until 60,000 miles / 2027 Is this price too high for potential warranty issues? As far as I can tell this has the auto cover and merdian both of which people like!

I have a T in the same VIN range
Real close actually
Build date was 11-16-22
Have 60,200 miles
Fit and finish was good on delivery
Only warranty items have been front motor inverter, front damper seal, and rear dampers leaking
Have not been stranded by it
Make sure all the accessories are included
Probably won’t be able to upgrade to a power tonneau because of the wiring harness

Thank you for responding. From what I can tell it has an automatic cover? I think I had the dealer send me a photo of the button and it has the double button thing.

Nice - that vin must be before the cutoff
I must have just missed it because mine is just 200 higher

We bought a used R1S with an early VIN built a bit later (VIN 3XX), approaching the warranty (56k miles). Since then, wife has put 24k miles on it in a year. No issues, only service of note is they’re replacing the front passenger brake rotors which apparently are most prone to wear on the Gen1 Quad, going to cost me like $250 out the door. They also honored the 60k warranty service and fixed some random upholstery damage I noticed after delivery and was almost certainly the previous owners damage.

My Gen1 (2022) was around 12xxx VIN and it never left me stranded. Had oodles of little warranty things, and the only major were jounce lines and a damper.

$52k seems like a reasonable deal at 30k-ish miles.

Also important to note that you'll be getting the Meridien sound system, which is excellent. Not to mention many many horsepower.

Why did you get rid of yours?

Bought my 22 R1T gently used last March with just under 12K miles. Now have nearly 31k miles on it as it is my daily commuter. Had it in service one time to have a damper replaced under warranty. Have had no other problems other than an out-of-balance wheel (the full size spare used in a 5-way tire rotation), which the local tire shop quickly remedied.

Mine also has a vin in the 15xxx range. Meridian sound system is fantastic. No interior rattles when bumping the bass, unlike my Model Y, which my R1T replaced.

I thought I'd miss not having the powered tonneau cover, but with a frunk this large, it has never been an issue.

@ImInnaRivian I'd say $52.5K is a fair price, but not great deal. I'd work to them down to right around $50K for that mileage.

Seems I got a lemon looking at your vins. My VIN was in the 15K and my truck was in the shop 3 months out of the 6.5 I had it. It never left me stranded but did go into turtle mode a few times. After having basically the entire front end replaced as well as the battery wiring I sold it for $53K. I paid $55K so $52.5K seems high at this point.

Currently driving Portland SC's 2002 Quad Large R1T loaner "Bluey," VIN #005xx and odometer 39.2K, while Portland replaces whining front motors on our R1S under warranty.

I don't know what service Bluey has needed over the years, but it seems to be a sweet ride at present.

Best to all!

I'm probably mistaken, but that may have been mine. My second T had a VIN a little over 15,000 and miles are right too. If so the "odds and ends" that go wrong with a gen 1 (wind noise, rattles, etc) were fixed. It was a demo when I bought it, and planned to trade for a Tri when it came out (and did). Had it ten months. Only major issue was charge port door was out of spec and wouldn't open. They towed truck from my house & replaced it.

Mine is an 8k vin, so a bit earlier build. It has been fantastic and has over 40k on it. Only things I've had to involve Rivian on are battery replacement and powered tonneau... thankfully mine broke recently so I've got the V2 roll up style rather than the V1.5 that still tried to make the stacking slats work.
I plan on getting a good check before 60k just as a precaution for the suspension then will drive it for another 100k hopefully.

That's a bummer, man. Did you replace your truck with another Rivian, or did that experience sour you on the brand?

Mine is 157XX VIN, had a rough run for a few months last year, hvac drip onto the wiring left me stranded out of state, and entire front end was replaced, 3 service visits in 3 months. Prior to that only 1 visit for a camera dying. Seems to be alright since, bit I'm wary of owning it outside of the warranty. Luckily I still have 22 months left on the 5 year.
