When I tried to format it from within the truck, it gave me an error message during formatting saying I needed 512 or above, but not more than 2TB. My 128gb card worked prior to the most recent update.
I accidentally plugged in the old 16GB thumb drive and it gave me an error saying I need to replace the drive, but no mention of minimum storage requirement.. ?

Try formatting it. At least on mine, that's when I got the message about what size it needed to be

Rivian said that you will want at least 128Gb drive. They should include that in the error message though.

It's interesting that the "Incident" Cam uses the over-the-bed cam for rear view recording, while the continuous recording "Drive" Cam uses the rear bumper camera.

I'm surprised that they chose two different implementations that are essentially doing the same thing.

Maybe I'm missing something.

The bumper cam can see things that are closer, in the blind spot. The bed camera gives a much better image though.

It should use both for Incident, Drive, and Motion.

LOVE the charging slider update in 1% increments. A bit annoyed why the needed to move the trip info deeper into the system. Glad to see my Car Wash Mode is back again.

Truck says minimum of 512, maximum of 2TB. I had a 128 and it didn't work.

4. Matson changed policy 30 days ago regarding EV shipping to HI. Only allow battery charge of 45-65% upon arrival at dock. No exceptions. Go figure that one out? Not a weight issue.
That's bonkers. I remember a few years ago it was charge up to 100% and be sure there is a charging cable available just in case.

Good luck with getting your R1's on island. I'll be reaching out to you later this year. I'l be shipping from Phoenix to LA, LA on Matson to HNL, then HNL to Hilo, so there's going to be some added time. Maybe I'll bug them about the 12V disconnect.

I'd reach out to @rivian_germany as he successfully shipped his vehicle to Germany.

Looking further, I guess I could have been wrong. I just plugged in the thumb drive to my computer and it's only a 32GB drive, so wouldn't work either way. I just glanced at the warning message, surprised it didn't work. Immediately pulled it out to plug it into the computer as I was sure it was a larger thumb drive capacity, but clearly I was wrong about that too. Worked fine for saving gear guard videos but not adequate for this new set up.

Sounds like 128GB is the more accurate number based on several others posting. Sorry for any confusion.

Already got an error message when I got into my truck tonight. Something about the external storage for Drive Cam not being found.

Samsung T7, still plugged in fine....

Updated to 2023.14.0 this afternoon. Turning proximity locking off at home no longer works. Home address in NAV is still correct. Any suggestion?

I went the ultra-cheap route to avoid having a cable running to a separate drive. I had a flash drive in there, turns out it was only 32gb, where the update now demands at least 128gb. This one is 1TB. Plus, it's a type C so no adapter needed.

Ordered last night, received today. Can confirm this one works. Good option for under $30.

Also, discovered that, in addition to pressing the horn for 1 second, there's also a bracketed circle [0] next to the driver's name that you simply tap to save/record video. Very much like Tesla.

So no need to have it record all the time if you don't want it to. It's still actually recording it, just to save it, you need to hit the horn or tap that button which is always at the top of the main screen, just a single tap away.

Curious, did it come with specs to say what the heat range is for use or for storage? I think most standard drives are only rated to around 45 c (114 F). I think one not designed for extreme temps will fail frequently in the summer, eve mild days exceed 120 in less than an hour.
