Funny you say that. I made a positive comment on one of their social channels about the update and seemingly got the push shortly afterwards. That was odd since I usually don't get the notification to update until after I get back to my home wifi and it's been through a sleep cycle. Makes one wonder if they even have that level of control over the release process.
Service definitely can initiate an update download, but I don't know if it's contingent on your vehicle already being selected for the update. I imagine someone at Rivian could though.
as a new RIVN owner (one month), forgive my ignorance, but I'm just curious: how does one get selected for an update? My truck says it's up to date (2024.07.03), but I see people have been getting this new 11.2 update since Monday. Might I be waiting for days, weeks, or a month before I see it?
They do the rollout in waves. Possible it's dependent on specific hardware that's in your vehicle but I don't know if Rivian's updates are that granular. Sometimes the minor versions are.
It's ALIVE!!!!!Mine just finished updating!
Still no update for me, so I'm going to wear my $30 Rivian ball cap when I go out today... I'm sure that will do the trick
