Waiting to hear back. They are trying to figure out how to push a new update through to me to reinstall. What did Rivian service say?
Your update isn't going to install. 7 percent is where it fails. Mine did that last month and ended up having to go to SC to have installed. Do BOTH resets before you call service and they will push it a second time. They will not push it a third time. Will send you to the SC. Mine failed yesterday too. Did the resets and am trying again now.I was having the proximity sensor issues so I started installing this around 8:30 this AM. It's 9:35 and the update is stuck at 7%. My wife needs the car in 20 mins and I might be in the doghouse if she can't use it. I'm guessing it's really bad to try to abort an update?
DittoMine was done in 30 minutes so there is hope for others!
And, btw, I am having sensor issues too. Supposedly this update will fix them.I was having the proximity sensor issues so I started installing this around 8:30 this AM. I would love both of those features, too. Not sure if you've tried it (and yes its a few taps), but now when I'm in our other garage I just set location as home. May be irritating to do everyday at work, but works well.I got my update mid day yesterday. The reverse throttle behavior is way smoother. Now I just need to install the rear camera washer line I’ve been meaning to get around to all winter so I can see where I’m going… that and/or some reverse lights that are actually sufficiently bright to see anything over the blindingly bright smudge on my screen all winter.
I’m a little annoyed about two things, however:
- They didn’t add the ability to change lock behavior on other locations than home. They should have “trusted locations” (work, second homes, wherever) where you can tell the truck not to proximity lock. I’m particularly bummed that they didn’t at least add Work as an option, given that they just added the ability to have driver profile-specific locations.
- They eliminated the seatbelt as an option to “keep” climate running without going three taps in for dog mode. I can’t believe they don’t have an option to keep the climate running when you’re getting in and out of the truck to run errands/etc. I wish I could just set a default “run for 5 min after exiting vehicle.” Or have one icon right on the top of a fan that you can press that leaves it on indefinitely (maybe it could notify you when exiting the truck that you have it left on, and/or give an app notification after 15 min that you could say continue or end with).
You do know you can wash the rear camera, right? Put the car in reverse, long push the rear wiper button on the end of the turn indicator stalk to wash the rear window. It will also spray a jet on the camera - but only when you're in reverse. Now I just need to install the rear camera washer line I’ve been meaning to get around to all winter so I can see where I’m going… that and/or some reverse lights that are actually sufficiently bright to see anything over the blindingly bright smudge on my screen all winter.
Get ready to get ready!!So you don’t have anything to share with us?
And only in an R1S... He's got an R1T.You do know you can wash the rear camera, right? Put the car in reverse, long push the rear wiper button on the end of the turn indicator stalk to wash the rear window. It will also spray a jet on the camera - but only when you're in reverse.
what did they say? This is so frustrating. Started for me July or August of last year but at least media reset temporarily fixed it then. Doesn’t now.Alexa voice commands still don't work with Spotify.
Had a frustrating conversation with Rivian yesterday about Alexa/Spotify, if you're having this issue please open a ticket so they can see the depth of the problem.
