Amen. Everyone out here hoping for text messages and launch control...I'd settle for HVAC that doesn't go completely bananas, ignoring my fan speed setting and/or attempting to cook us alive despite being set to Auto 68F. Oh, and would be great if they can throw in automatic heated seats/steering wheel, like basically every luxury car (and even many mainstream brands) has had for the last 10 years.
Since many of us started noticing/reporting the overheating issue several months ago, they issued a fix for the problem. You hadn't heard? Here's how to activate it. When the car heats waaaaayyyyy past the set point, you simply turn off the AC and open the windows. Then when you start freezing, you close the windows and turn on the AC again. Brilliant, really. ;-)

2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition - Bikes and more bikes
It's nice to see that Rivian is still supporting us early Gen1 adopters. I still love driving my R1T!

HVAC - Agreed. There could be some improvements in this area. Living in the PNW and using the truck for alpine outings, it would be nice to keep windows de-fogged without turning the cabin into a sauna. I've tried just about all settings; sweating, cold, windows vented, and AUTO.

Side note (pun intended): I really wish Rivian would allow the side mirror flood lights to operate in off-road modes. I understand that many states limit the use of more than four projection lights on public highways, but enabling this feature off-road would be incredibly helpful for trail driving and locating campsites at night. While aftermarket options exist, it would be great to use a capability that Rivian’s designers clearly built into the vehicle from the start—without needing additional bolt-ons.

I'm in the same region, and I don't have that problem at all. I find that I need the defogger only infrequently, usually when I first get in the car, and that it only takes 15-30 seconds for it to clear the fog. Then I let AUTO keep the temperature steady, which also seems to keep the fog away. I usually have my temp set at 68. I've often commented that the defogger in my Rivian works better than on any car I've ever owned.

Not a complaint. I want as many updates they’ll give me; but launch mode in February when its 10° out and covered in snow and ice….ill be saving this one for June.
Losers. It's 80 degrees in Socal. Gimme launch mode now! 😝😝😝

I'm still hoping for a better bluetooth player or a better way to play music I own.

Outside of that, I'm mostly satisfied with features, and I hope they focus effort on stability & glitches.

I'm a little less excited about each update, and that's a good thing.
Just curious - what issues do you have with Bluetooth? I use that method for audio exclusively, and as long as the source is active on my phone it works flawlessly.

Does the sport mode for all dual motors mean power increases for owners who didn’t have performance or is it just suspension setting?

If I were to guess, they're adding sport mode for the dual motor owners who want AWD and included different ride height settings for everyone because the ride quality in sport/low or lowest is a common complaint. Depending on the amount of telematics they have, they might actually have the usage data to determine its (un)popularity.

If I were to speculate further, throwing that freebie out there for dual motors (and putting launch mode in with the performance package, which I think came out of nowhere) is actually about making the performance upgrade more palatable for people who saw it as having little actual value. It's also common for feedback to say that the performance upgrade is a waste of money because it doesn't do very much in day to day use.

So now they're making it so sport mode has more day to day utility. With its peppier throttle mapping things will feel faster even if nothing has really changed. Not the outcome I expected, but if I'm right it's a fairly clever way of addressing people's anecdotes about other cars 'feeling' faster without actually being faster and also increasing the uptake of performance upgrades without cutting the price.

I’m pretty happy with some of these drive mode changes. Sport mode has the best steering and accelerator pedal response but I drive on mostly roads where low height is a little too jarring. Plus standard height has the alignment set correctly with a gen1 subframe. Just yesterday I was wishing I could have medium firmness and standard ride height in sport mode.
Now if only I could dial regen down a little bit and be able to use the brake pedal to modulate brake force in sport instead of the on/off of regen braking.
Interestingly many of these improvements that I personally have “kinda wished it were different” like changing drive modes with cruise on are not the things I read complaints about all the time.

The first issue is that the audio constantly cuts in and out. It's very glitchy. I don't know the real cause, but the audio is always cutting out for half-seconds at a time. But it's many of these cutouts over short periods of time. It's most frequent near home.

The second issue is that you can't navigate the music library well from the touchscreen. The screen will show whatever audio was last playing, but there's no way to shift to a different artists, podcast, etc. If I was last playing one album, that's the only album that shows.

I don't use my phone for navigating media while driving.

My front half Shafts already struggle with full acceleration in all purpose mode.

Sport mode in standard ride height is screaming for front half Shafts issues.
Yup, I'm careful with hammering the acceleration now. I'll lower it all the way if I do.

Just a thought, could the music cut outs be happening when your navigation is indicating for you? Like, if you have audio notifications off, but the ping indication of action (upcoming turn, etc.) on instead, it causes the "ducking" of the music You can turn off all notifications to stop the ducking. Thanks to @VandalSibs.
I also use Bluetooth exclusively for music, and had the ducking, - though maybe it's something else for you.

On the music navigation front; just anticipate the limitations and choose a good Playlist and drive baby drive.

All the best!
