2023 R1S, we are at 55k miles and Rivian recommended we spend $250 to do comprehensive inspection before our warranty runs out. Am I glad I did it. Here are the issues they found and will be fixed under warranty. They also told me that new parts are better quality and should last longer

I have a standard+ battery so my warranty expired at 50k…

Last month I went to the Alpharetta service center and had a comprehensive inspection at 49,700 miles.

New front and rear dampers, new lines, new hydraulic pump. Basically every hydraulic component in the suspension.

To make it more interesting: the replacement parts and work are only covered by the regular warranty.

I had to go back a week later to get the alignment redone.

The moral of this story: Pay the $250 for a comprehensive inspection a few thousand miles before your comprehensive warranty expires.

With everything that can go wrong with these trucks, get the inspection it might be worth it. Especially if you have warranty left.

I would add if you are buying any Rivian from one of the sites like Carvana or Carmax, drive it straight to a service center and get it inspected before the take back / limited warranty expires.

Thank you for the reminder!
Have ours scheduled for July 6th and getting a comprehensive inspection, however we are at 59,600 miles so we will need to use sparingly until then. Checking to see if they can bump it forward at all.

The SC suggested a full inspection when I get close to 60K to me on a prior visit - we just got it back last week (we're at 57,900) and the "only" thing the inspection showed was the need to replace the front dampers and half-shafts. I did pay them $90 to rotate the tires. That was basically free money to them because they remove all wheels to do the $295 inspection anyway. Glad I did it!
