You were making a good case until I got to Spandau Ballet. Now I think you belong in an institution.

Actually I loved the 80's. Flying all over the world on my company's American Express card. Racking up expense reports of $15K to $25 per month. Always staying/flying/eating first class.

Oh, and everyone I knew had $40K to $50K in credit card debt. Because you could write off the interest on your taxes. And (at least in 1980) there weren't any STD's that would kill just for fun.

It didn't really sink in how bad the greed was until I sat at California Memorial Stadium, at Cal Berkeley, watching my son graduate in June 1986. Seeing Boesky recite the "Greed Speech" really put it into perspective.
The 80s covered ages 5-15 for me so it was definitely a different experience. If I were an adult then I’m pretty sure I would be dead.☠

So many of us tried.... especially the ones like me that thought we were bullet-proof having survived combat in Vietnam.

Me? 7 total (no, really). 4 in combat and 3 here in the states during routine training missions. CH-53 and CH-46. Other than a few broken fingers and ribs, the worst were the burns on my hands and neck. I think I had forgotten to change the oil in my flight suit.

Yeah, it’s easy to forget those 2 things go hand in hand. The 80s would not be the 80s without what happened in the 70s. I’m glad you’re still here causing trouble

Exactly the same age range for me.

The 80's were a great time to be a kid: F off at dawn and be back when the streetlights came on. No rules... It was rad.

When I was in High School in the early 90s I worked at a mom and pop deli. Not a single day went by without a customer asking us "how big is the 6 inch sub?"

I think of those customers a lot when I read some of these forum posts.

Thanks, it is truly awesome to still be here. The trouble just happens all by itself.

That's a pretty strong case given that you didn't even feel the need to list most of the good bands.

They definitely had a good run. I thought Joy Division and Men at Work were carrying most of the weight, but we can agree to disagree on that:rock:
