Really? I thought that all DC fast chargers had the ability to show available chargers vs chargers currently being used.
They do, the person claiming otherwise is completely wrong. I always look at capacity before going.

For your road trip, did you have navigation running? If it stopped, perhaps it’s where it communicated with RAN on the SoC needed for the next leg and either stopped at a preset limit or stopped at the required limit for the next leg.. Did you notice what Nav said you needed to get to on this charge?

It’s rare where I’ve had to charge to 90%+ at a DCFC to get to the next one. On road trips I typically keep my max charge to the 85% setting and avoid going over 80% unless nav recommends it and I don’t have an alternate next charger vs. what Rivian’s selected. When I know I need more than 85 that’s what for that session I bump the limit to 100% and let it run higher. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten to use RAN regularly (only about 5-8 times total, there’ just aren’t any near us, and most of our routes don’t typically take us by one).

well, if you;re saying it charged you idle fees, you must have changed the preset charge limit. you can easily change it to any value you wnat on the phone app > Energy tab.

So I just had something similar happen. And I immediately thought about this post.
I just pulled in to a charger; set to 100 on the screen and walked across the street to Cracker Barrel. When I sat down I went to confirm my charging time and my app now said 21 minutes and set to 50% I can assure you that I didn’t set it to 50% and I did not open the app on my walk here.

Luckily I saw mine In time and was able to set it back to 100! I’m on a road trip I don’t want 50%!

This actually happened to me twice on my long drive home from Florida yesterday, both times exactly set to 50% odd.
