I have been planning on getting these TPMS sensors for my winter setup. https://www.amazon.com/BH-SENS-433MHz-Quality-Sensor/dp/B09W81D636
Got those exact ones from Amazon and installed on my winter tire setup. Confirm they work off the shelf with no additional programming. The only thing (which might not be valid) is that it takes about 5 minutes (a couple miles) before I see the PSI. Maybe it's the same with the OEM sensors.

Installing the sensors are easy peasy as they slip in and you tighten on with the bolt.

I installed this set of aftermarket wheels (R800 EVSportsline) with Nokian LT3s non-studded. I don't have a report on snow performance yet. However, so far the efficiency is higher than the stock 20 ATs. They are a bit noisier than the stock ATs, but only really noticeable with the windows down.

What’s your new efficiency? I’ve done the same but with the Falkens. It seems I’m averaging about 1.9

I hope Michelin Updates the Ice-X to a higher load rating as they just did for the LTX all season tire.

I know the 60 series Defenders have better range and price than the 65 options. Is the same true for winter tires ? There are plenty of 65 series 20 tires available. Besides the extra diameter, would there be a reason to prefer 60R20's ?

In case someone is looking for 275/60R20 winter tires on these 20" wheels to replace the 21" stock setup, I had a hard time finding winter tires that were in stock and had the proper load ratings (assuming that is important).

The only non-studded ones I found online that had the correct load ratings, max PSI, and were not backordered, were Hankook tires on SimpleTire.com:

https://simpletire.com/brands/hanko...temId=213697&curationSource=none&productPos=5

Simpletire website is good, the tires arrived in a couple of days. Now I'm just waiting on the same wheels as Kanuk. Will probably have to do a few ski days on the 21s before the new wheels arrive and can be mounted.
I am in a similar boat. I have the 21" stock wheels, so I want 275/60r20 winter tires to avoid reprogramming the speedometer. I found the Hankook tires through a local shop (they said they could also get General Grabber Arctics with a 116 load rating as well). But now I need wheels. The Radius wheels linked above are out of stock until at least December (and the company someone in another thread identified as the manufacturer indicated to me their model has been discontinued, so I'm not sure they'll ever be in stock). The only other reasonable alternative seems to be the EV1 R800s or R1000s, but these appear to have lower load ratings of only 2,475 lbs., so I'm hesitant to get them. I realize that 2,475*4=9,900 lbs., well over 10% more than the R1S GVWR of 8,532 lbs., but... is it safe to use a wheel that's rated so much lower than the tire rating? And will the shop mount 116-rated tires to a wheel that's effectively rated at only 113? Will they put them on my R1S? I have no idea!

I went with the x-ice snow. i wasn't too bothered by the 115 SL load rating vs 116 XL which came stock on my R1S since rivian used to provide 115 SL Pirellis with earlier builds of the R1S.

Do you plan on doing a lot of towing in winter?

No, but the first shop I tried wouldn't install them. I know I could probably dig a bit deeper for someone willing to do it. It seems like such a marginal difference.

Oh i gotcha. Yeah, Tire Rack didn't want to sell them to me at first because of this but they came around.

I also have 21" stock wheels. If I understand correctly, you are saying that the Hancock winter I*pikeX 275/60R 116T XL mounted on a Radius WI35 wheels will have the same overall diameter and not require re-programming. I am in Salt Lake and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with local shops getting these wheels and tires, or anything else that will work as replacement for 21" stock wheels.

That is correct. See below from https://tiresize.com/comparison/.

Thank you. So the challenge is to find a 20inch wheel. As others have noted, the Radius is not available until February. The only wheel I can find for <500/wheel is a MSW from TireRack. If anyone has any other suggestions, please share them.
I ended up canceling my order for the Radius wheels due to the delays and ordered the R800s from EV Sportline. They are more expensive for sure, but I like having the option for bronze anyway, and when I ordered you could use the SPOOKY10 code to get 10% off, it might still be valid. Which that coupon it does get the tires to <$500/each. Hopefully they will ship soon (I already have a tracking number although it's unclear it's actually been shipped yet).

Bronze it intriguing, but not sure best option for white exterior.

A tire shop that installs a tire that does not meet the load rating of the vehicle that it's installed on could theoretically be held liable for anything that happens as a result - tire failure, accident, warranty issues, etc...

Given that an insurance company would ABSOLUTELY use this to get out of a large claim, if it happened, smart tire shops (and vehicle owners) will not install tires that don't meet the load rating posted on the door jam of the vehicle.

If you want to roll the dice, go for it. Personally, I wouldn't.

I like to have a dedicated set of snow tires and rims. So, I went with these rims from Tirerack, Rivian TPMS’s, and Nokian LT3 studded snow tires (LT275/65 R 20 126/123 Q).

(I just noticed that the delivery date for the wheels has been pushed out since I bought mine .)

A buddy of mine has the Nokian LT3’s tires on his truck (not a Rivian) and swears by them. Even though they’re studded, they are a lot quieter than I expected them to be.

We live in BC and frequently travel over the infamous Duffy and Coquihallla passes, (https://www.dangerousroads.org/north-america/canada/4008-coquihalla-highway.html). So, ice performance is top of mind for us.

The folks on this forum are looking for the safest/best options for winter travel. Now if we could just get the “I’m okay with my all seasons” crowd to buy into 3 Peak or dedicated winter tires we’d all be safer and better off.

How were the LT3s this past winter? Thinking of doing studded this winter, living in Whistler, and doing some drives off-road in winter and down to the city and back on the Sea to Sky?

Do you mind answering why you picked the LT3s? I was looking at Ice Contacts or X-Ice on my 22 rims for winter and Wildpeaks on my 20s for summer/backcountry.

appreciate any feedback and guidance!
