Good evening

I know there are probably a LOT of threads out there, but I am specifically looking for a non suction cup phone mount that can also charge the phone and mount to the left of the steering wheel. The problem I have with the ones to the right of the steering wheel, are that the phone screen tends to be covered by the steering wheel.

Any suggestions would be great as I know there are a lot of sales coming up for black friday.

2022 R1S owner on the hunt for the same from the very beginning. Out of all I've tried I like this mount from EV Sportline the best. It mounts to the left of the wheel but doesn't block airflow from the vent. And instead of their ugly charger, I use a clean black one from Mous. I use a USB-C coupler to make the Mous one work.

The right side mount isn't necessarily going to cover the screen. I had one for a long time, but just moved the phone to the left when I put a CarPlay screen on the right.

Currently:

This is the phone magnetic holder:

I chose this because it has a fan to cool the phone (important in summer), and has an offset ball. That lets you position it higher and in a more customizable location.

The left side mount was 3D printed in carbon fiber nylon, but you can also buy it already printed:

I just saw they have a new left mount: https://opensourceev.com/products/complete-nextgen-left-phone-holder-kit

This was my former right side mount:

I won't be using that mount any more, if you want it for half of the cost, shipped, it's yours. I think it worked quite well, with a bit of vibration off road but not a huge amount.

I've also 3D printed some extension balls to get the phone closer to me, in the left side configuration. I uploaded the new print files for them:

I concur with the EV Sportline mount on the driver's side. I'm currenlty using it to hold my GMRS mic.

I had the carplay screen and have decided to remove it as it doesn't add much to my own driving experience. Happy to sell it on if anyone is interested.

I recently got the Offroam mounts/arms and am using Peak Design magsafe chargers. The phone is in clear view on the most solid mounting solution I've found so far.

The 3D printed stuff is fine but still allows for vibration/movement.
The mounts that squeeze into the outer vents ended up scratching the plastic so I don't recommend.

My wife loves these, I absolutely hate them. So, 50/50 in my world, LOL.

The CP screen from EV Sportline is a dumpster fire.

Not true at all. I absolutely hate vibration and made sure they don't. You can 3D print in a lot of materials with different properties. I choose carbon-nylon, super solid. I'm even 3D printing guns with it.

I can't speak to your own printed parts but the various ones I've used from different companies all have had some degree of vibration driving around town. Too much for my liking.

Offroam/Peak Design stuff is rock solid.
