This is happened to me twice today.
I leave my Rivian parked and walk away, it chirps to indicate that it is locked. I go shopping or whatever, return to the Rivian and walk to the rear with a handful of items. I press the rubber hatch button under the "V", it opens on the first click, but the alarm sounds as the hatch is still opening. (honk, honk, honk, honk... I've actually never heard it before until today). When I hit the button on the tailgate and open and close it quickly the alarm stops.
I have my phone as my key in my pocket. I didn't see if the tail lights lit up to greet me, so I'm not sure if the car knows I'm there (or has actually unlocked yet), but then why would the tailgate open when I press the button? Anyone else have something similar happen.
I'm in a Gen1 R1S with the latest software update.
