My R1T is pulling to the right. Not a lot but enough where it is noticeable when I don’t use driver+. Has anyone gotten an alignment at a Rivian Service Center? Done somewhere else? If done at Rivian do you remember the price? My closest one is 2 hours away so only using bring it there if I have a list of problems (which I don’t have right now). Thx a bunch!

Yes, the service center is absolutely will do an alignment. How many miles are on your vehicle if it’s below 12,000 miles and within the first year, they should cover the alignment otherwise it’s about $280. At least that’s what I was charged.

You may be able to get the alignment done at a third-party shop for a bit less. Apparently performing a four wheel alignment on these vehicles can be a challenge.

Over a year and 26,xxx miles. I would rather do it through Rivian just wanted to see how other people felt about them. Thx so much for the info!!

Don't want to hijack the thread, but it seems like a good one to ask this somewhat related question: Does Rivian service routinely check wheel alignment when you bring your vehicle in for other services? An alignment check is common at ICE dealerships when you bring your car in, and though I suspect this is much more part of the up-selling that is routine these days, you at least get a print out with the specs gratis.

The reason that I ask is because appointments at SC are so far out in the future in my neck of the woods. I picked up my R1T in June, and couldn't get an appointment at the the SC closest to my house until the end of November. There are no issues that I can detect with the alignment right now, so I'm reluctant to add it to the work order given the already high work load at this particular SC.

No.

To answer OP, Rivian does a good job realigning them. If you happen to have a service completed affecting the suspension or subframe, they'll realign as part of the service.

My R1S pulled a little to the right from day one. After 3k miles I had the Richmond VA SC do an alignment. The tech that took a test ride with me wasn't sure it was pulling right. I politely asked them to please run through the process and give me the before and after print-outs. Yep. You could see what was wrong in the before and the after looked really good. It drives beautifully ever since. Highly recommended.

got my r1T september 2022 it took them 5 attempts to get the alignment right (Dallas service center) I think back then they were woefully undertrained on how to do it properly.

I'm now at 33k miles and need another alignment, truck drives straight but wheel's off to the left / hold the wheel straight it'll pull to the right, I have hesitated taking it back b/c the trauma if 5 wasted trips the first go around, but it's been 2 years so I bet they're much better at it now.

I have the same issue (pulls to the right) and have an appointment next week at the Bellevue SC. Under a year, but with about 15K on it so I suspect I will have to pay.

Can anyone tell me if/how I can find out if I will be given a loaner or rental car while thy have my R1T? Its a 2 hour drive and I need to know if I need to have my wife take time off work to follow me over to the SC...

It's an upsell, and at most dealers it's just an automated process with cameras and lasers as they drive the car into the shop. They aren't actually truly checking it, meaning they don't put it on a rack.

They will give you one of them, but there's no way to know ahead of time. I've tried. They just tell me it depends on what they have on hand at the time. Unfortunately on my one service visit I ended up with some horrible Cadillac piece of shit ICE thing. I can't believe a brand new car is that shitty. If someone told me it was a 20 year old Altima I'd believe them.

I had my R1T alligned at a Rivian SC. It pulled to the right from day one. I took delivery, on a late July Friday afternoon from the Atlanta SC, which is closest to where I live (just east of Pensacola). Too late in the day to return and get it fixed, so I contacted Rivian support.

I was traveling up north in September and scheduled the Madison Heights SC (just north of Detroit) to do the alignment.

First attempt made it worse, so they gave me a loaner and I went to MIL’s about 90 minutes away. Came back early the next day and picked up the now correctly aligned R1T. Shout out to the Madison Heights SC who treated me with respect and professionalism. Terrific customer service.

Truck tracks straight and true. No cost; covered under warranty. The tech also noticed the adjustable steering column vibrated when extending; they replaced the entire steering column, also under warranty.

Yes, Rivian can do an alignment at a service center (at least the one near Detroit) and yes they are very competent and skilled. My experience anyway.

I just had mine aligned under warranty at their Costa Mesa CA service center. The center was crowded and I left my vehicle for 5 days while they worked on it. Result - it’s better but not perfect. It pulled hard to the right previously and now it pulls ever so slightly to the left. But way better than before and it was warranty so I can prob live with this.

The issue with 3rd party alignments (present day)…

You have 2 real choices…

1) Certified Body Shop. May be closer, but will want $800 or more to do it.

2) You find someone with a new Hunter Alignment Machine and Rack. The alignment specs for Rivian IS in the machine, and they can do it…HOWEVER, when Rivian or an Alignment shop are performing the alignment, the connect a computer with Rivian Software to the OBD and take the truck through several rounds of simulators that adjust the suspension many times while you do it. Correct alignment on one of these takes about 2.5 hours. If you don’t care for the simulator (not sure the negatives here) the. Any shop with a Brain and a newer Hunter Machine can do it. The adjustment points ARE in the Hunter software.

Getting an alignment today on my R1S at a non-SC shop in Denver area. SC wait was too long. S is pulling right after one tire replaced because of unfixable slice. Price is around $300.

Ditto- My 2023 R1T is at the Bellevue (WA) SC right now for an alignment due to pulling to the right and the steering wheel not centered when driving straight. They said it'd take a few weeks.. really?

I just tried to have my local SC check my alignment on my truck and they refused.

I just got new tires installed and noticed a bit of feathering on my Pirellis. The SC is saying they can't do an alignment on "aftermarket" equipment.

Considering all the alignment measuring tools attach to the wheel, which are still factory OEM this is puzzling to me.

I'm going to push back, but does anyone have any rationale as to why or experienced something similar?

My truck actually drives fine, it's going in to have the suspension noise checked out. I just don't want to make sure I have odd tire wear in the future.
