I have owned several Audis since the early 2000s, and we currently have a 2023 SQ5 and 2026 RS3 in the garage. With all the software issues in their ICE vehicles, I've never had any interest in an Audi EV... :p

We'll look to replace the SQ5 with an R2 later in the year, as having at least one EV makes sense for us (after getting rid of our Tesla Model 3 a few months ago).

Long time Audi fan here as well. Started with a B5 A4, and since have had a B6 A4, Q5 TDI, and now currently in an OG e tron SUV. Similar to what everyone else has said, there is something about Audi interiors. Definitely do feel like it's greater than the some of its parts. It could just be me, but I feel like there's an intangible quality that makes them special (I could be and probably am biased).

But after moving to the e tron, I can't go back to ICE (as my daily) and just getting too nervous about the motor sealant issue, so looking to make a switch. Was looking at current e tron offerings (Q4 & Q6), but I don't think there is anything from Audi that is a better overall package as the R2 (software, range, preimum-ish interior, autonomy, offroad capability). Will for sure miss the B&O sound system though.

I have a 2019 Q5 Quattro as a bridge car from when I dumped my Tesla; I didn't realize it was a suburban mom-mobile when I got it but holy hell it is. Can't wait to trade it in on my R2.

Great to see so many other Audi drivers out here. I have been driving Audi since the mid 90s, various A3, A4, A6 and Q5. Over the years I got lucky and had no major repairs or oil consumption, no lemon and very little rattles. A battle was always begging the dealer to install software updates. Too many piano black plastic pieces and touch buttons are not helping either.

The R2 seems to check all boxes of what I'm looking for. Missing CarPlay, head up display and air suspension aside, other functionality (dash cam, garage door opener) will hopefully be added via OTA updates. The interior seemed to be as good as in recent Audi models (Q5/Q6), too early to tell if rattles become an issue.
