I just drove from OC to Vegas and the efficiency was pretty bad . Granted I was going 80-85 and there was definitely elevation to contend with but didn’t even sniff 2 mi/kwh. I was driving AP with auto height on 21 with Aeros off. I know there have been range tests with Aeros on and off but have there been any tests in trucks going above 80? Would like to see that data. Trip was still a breeze. 30 minute top off at RAN Barstow and Wynn offers “free” charging when you valet.

They claimed 1-2% improvement with Aeros. Frankly wasn’t worth that to me to put up with the ugly plastic look. I didn’t test it myself.
But frankly that’s really hard to measure because you could have that same amount of variance by simply differences in speed going over the same path.

I think we all know that speed kills efficiency. It’s really noticeable in an EV because we pay more attention to efficiency than we did in an ice car. I drive the Indio to OC route regularly and can easily get better than 2mi/Kw if I use Conserve and slow down a bit.

Makes sense. Was wondering if they make a greater impact at higher speeds.

I think on Conserve I’d get better efficiency too but no need on this drive.

I did a Barstow to Kingman leg on a trip in August at 75mph in conserve and got 2.2-2.4 m/kwh. I have 21s with the aero covers on, but it was also in warm weather.

Same with 22". Just finished 1,4K mile road trip with average of 1.85 miles/kWh. OC to Sedona to GC to Page to St. George back to OC through LV. Lots of cold weather and snow, but on 15, between Vagas and SoCal if you're not doing 80~85, you're hazard on the road.

Elevation kills efficiency, as well as speed. Your return trip should have been better though...
