Apple Music completely broken?

Apple music worked for the first couple days but now it never works and if I do get a song to play the next one fails to load. It is worthless in my book and as a non apple user testing the free trial I cancelled the renewal on that right away. I'll just stick to streaming via BT from YouTube Music as I have been doing for the past year.

A few days ago, my truck did some sort of of reset or hidden update that reset all of the "new user" prompts, a bunch of settings, and killed Dolby Atmos. Apple Music will play if you turn off Atmos (Spatial audio) but not with it on. 100% repeatable for me.

ALSO...I can no longer do an infotainment reset. But can do the master reset (and have twice).

It’s reasons such as these I don’t want CarPlay in Rivian. Rivian really needs to be able to have full control of their software to keep it consistent. Otherwise we’re at the mercy of other companies.

You've got it backwards. If we had Apple Play, all of this would work because Apple has solidified this platform over a long time. Because Rivian has control, they keep fucking it up. Things like the 100-song limit are so insanely stupid, programming 101 basics, that you have to wonder if the Rivian devs have checked the batteries on their CO detectors lately.

Yes not good. Every time I try to use it recently it just loads "No Media available here" or some message on my Home Screen. If I try to just browse to a playlist then it just never plays.

If this is supposed to be my free trial of connect+ then Rivian is dropping the ball.... I guess my hotspot works if that is the thing they are selling.

I'd say 50/50 is a good estimate for a successful audio connection in my Gen 2 R1S. Spotify doesn't work well either. Many tracks and podcasts don't load and can't establish a connection.

Not a great advertisement for the new Connect+ service.

When I went to the truck the other day, the Music App just showed "No Content Available." I did a soft reset and that still didn't fix the issue. A short while later I remembered that I had to change my Apple Password and I then figured it must be a permissions issue.

The next time I was at the truck, I logged out of my Apple Account and then Music hung up on the logout screen. I then did another soft reset and Music came back up asking for me to log in using my phone (as it did the first time around). It's been working since.

It's pretty sad software when it won't even tell you there's an authentication issue and to log out/in.

I had a Jeep Compass rental last week from Hertz during a trip to Colorado and spent a fair amount of time driving so I set up CarPlay. It was another painful experience using CarPlay.

Yes, Rivian needs to have full control of the stack.

What part of the great state of Colorado are you in? My wife had a business meeting in Westminster on Friday. We took some vacation days and went to RMNP, stayed at the Stanley, and hit about 10+ breweries in Estes Park, Golden, Boulder, Nederland, Westminster, RINO, etc. ?

The urban elk in Estes Park were unfazed by the Jeep.

I am in Loveland, which is about 30 minutes east of Estes Park, just south of Fort Collins. I grew up in Boulder/ Louisville and have lived in almost all of those other places you mentioned at one point or another…You got to see some great spots while you were here! Did you see the frozen dead guy they keep in the Stanley now? ??‍

We heard about the frozen dead guy but didn’t go on that tour. My wife and I are Stephen King fans so we did that tour. Got to see the axe from the Shining and visited the rooms that were his inspiration for the book.

That hotel isn’t my style, but it’s a great part of weird Colorado history. I’m glad you guys got to stay there for a night!
