Sounds like Rivian again :) I purchased the lifetime subscription on the 3rd - but the app on my phone is now telling me I need to upgrade to keep autonomy+ - thankfully it’s still working in the truck itself.

In the app, it says trial active, expires 4/4.

Based on the Connect+ rollout, I never expected this to be a hard date, and the turn on definitely needs an OTA update to accomplish. So I think it's fair to assume everyone has at least a few more weeks of free Autonomy+. Maybe until just before the earnings call on 30 April so they can tout the monetization, but I think it's more likely that the free service doesn't turn off until sometime around June when people start getting their R2s, because that is when the new software will have to be ready. We also saw a similar delay in software around the Gen 2 rollout - the new software needs to support both the old and the new vehicles, but the timeline to get the new vehicles out to customers is the overriding factor.

Rivian is giving people plenty of time to come to terms with this change and to decide whether it's something they want to pay for. Forcing it before it's ready will result in a pretty low take rate. Regardless, people are going to scream when their free trial expires, but perhaps some extra free time will soften the blow.

I just drove a little more. It’s not UHF anymore. Is this Highway Assist? Hands-on, more nagging, and not available on streets and side roads.

I will pay for the A+ soon. Just the less nagging alone makes it worth the $$$. 😁

My UHF stopped working today, as advertised, on the last day of a long road trip. Not having it on the eastern sierra/395 to San Diego was not great. My wife does not like driving the Rivian, so UHF is basically my co-pilot and makes for a more relaxing long distance haul. Highway Assist only works when you transition to I-15 further south.

I’ll likely subscribe for a month on the next trip, but hopefully it evolves a bit before then. I was really hoping for an Easter UHF extension from RJ the Easter Bunny, but no such luck!

I felt the same in a way not having it today since I like driving on side streets and the back roads. I will be subscribing anyway after I experience enough of driving without it.

I thought about not renewing as well, since the roads that really matter for longer hauls here in the northeast tend to be covered by highway assist. Buuut I renewed anyway and with a 3hr round trip drive today it was just such a pleasure to travel. I also secretly hope we are somehow at the front of the pack for point to point if we are locked and loaded with the subscriptions.
