Actually ended up parking next to one of these behemoths the other day. The wheels are absolutely ginormous. Bigger than a 4 year old standing. Made my R1S look like a toy in comparison. It really does have a presence in public. I'd say good job Cadillac, whatever they were going for, they definitely nailed it.

Man, it’s been well over a decade since I’ve been to NorthPark Mall in Dallas. It hasn’t changed one bit.

I saw the Out of Spec video that Kyle did where he compared the IQ and the Gravity. The Gravity looks tiny compared but amazingly has about the same interior space.

Having said that, GM’s SuperCruise is no joke. I’ve used it on a Silverado on the highway and it blows Rivians system out of the water.

While the Escalade style in general is not for everyone, the one I look at was stunning in every way. Definitely, road-tripper heaven. I'm afraid I'm about to be priced out of the really nice EV's, as $140K out-the-door is painful.

I agree with this. It is gorgeous in person, and I am sure will live up to the prestige of the ICE version. I'm not sure it is my type of SUV, even if it was priced the same as a Rivian, but I am only getting older, so you never know :)

I traded my R1 on a escalade IQ. I have had it for 2 months now and I am still lingering on these forms because I miss my Rivian and I plan to come back now that the quad is out (even thought disappointingly not differentiated) While the hardware on the IQ is amazing. Lookes stunning, the size is just impressive 500 miles of range, 800v, rear wheel steering. The software is garbage and the truck just feels dumb and gets everything wrong. So many frustration points with this thing and I can not wait to have a Rivian again. Think Rolex vs Apple watch. If you want something that everyone else will look at and envy you the Escalade is great. If you want something that will do everything make your life better in many ways go Rivian. (this coming from a Escalade IQ owner)

It's an absolute clown car, and a mockery of design and engineering. I couldn't believe how ridiculous it was just standing by it, but then getting in it...ugh.
I drove it a few times and it has some flaws like the Rivian, but it is extremely comfortable and great large luxury EV SUV. It is even cheaper to lease then R1S Tri-motor and insure despite the deals I was offered for a 50K more expensive model. Yes, I posted this before on reddit with actual vin #s and facts.

However I needed a work SUV to replace my truck and the IQ just screamed X%#@ as a vehicle for industrial construction sites. I would look like those twits in the 60 year old body 150k+ Merc SUVs

I've found the software on traditional manufacturer vehicles to be severely lacking. So many common sense things that they get wrong and a lot of it can also be blamed on them sticking with what they know on their ICE platforms. I've walked into dealerships to ask about their EVs and it's kind of sad how much the sales people don't want to be bothered with them. I was really looking into a Lyriq originally but the dealership experience to even check it out was less than ideal.

That is generally speaking though, as some traditional manufacturers have been better than others, but the tech is where ground up EV companies (Telsa, Rivian, Lucid) show that they REALLY get it. Something we take for granted in this forum sometimes.

The range is awesome on the IQ though. Hopefully at least that has been nice!

How is the ride? Any thoughts in comparison to the ride and quietness of R1S or an R2?
Will be interesting to see how the Caddy does, but definitely a shot across the bow for Rivian I would say.

If I didn't need/want off-road capabilities and just wanted a plush cruiser, this might be an option...though not sure about the weight. Range is great, but at what cost?

The software is definitely lacking but the ride and range are amazing (for my husband- I love my R1T. He, however, regularly does 1000 mile + trips that were exhausting in his lightning). If Rivian had an R1S that could truly go 450 miles at highway speeds, faster charging, and a plusher ride, my husband would've bought one as he does appreciate the better software and app.

if you actually read what I said..... i drove and had offer on the lux2 version with options. it was 50k more then the R1S Dune and was less expensive to lease . I still bought the dune but it is a pretty nice full size ev with great range and would make goid luxury family suv and a good luxury for ride company drivers
