Looks like a need a new windshield, but I'm on Maui with no Rivian SC. Does anyone here have experience with a Mobile Service technician from Rivian handling the camera recalibration after a windshield replacement? Can the mobile service tech do a full windshield replacement as well if there's no approved third party in the area?

I had my windshield replaced about a month ago. Rivian recalibrated my cameras remotely.

I was told by a mobile service rep that the vehicle will auto—recalibrate after windshield replacement if the sensing devices are not unplugged during replacement. This may take 100 miles, though. I didn’t test this sense I had to go to the SC anyway

Between you and the dogs I think you can DIY it.

While Safelite did a terrible job with alignment and sealing my windshield, the ADAS worked just fine afterwards. No calibration was needed.
Did you end up having the windshield reinstalled by another company or are you stuck with the botched SafeLite job?

Safelight replaced mine but I still had to have Rivian calibrate it. Apparently, Safelight is a new vendor so only some of them are “certified” to calibrate. We ran into an issue because Safelight did not communicate nor include in the invoice that they did or did not replace the weather sensor (Not sure of the official name). The Rivian mechanic could not tell by just looking at the windshield so it turned into a debacle just trying to figure it out. My suggestion is to ask whether or not anything other than the windshield was replaced when you get it done. .

Fully replaced by Rivian. They wouldn't "fix" anything with the Safelite glass, would only touch with Rivian stock glass. As noted by @KCTompkins Rivian noticed my rain sensor wasn't adhered right by Safelite either.

I'm still waiting for USAA to respond to my second windshield claim. They asked a couple questions when I first submitted, but that was 2 weeks ago. I'm fully ready to dump them if/when this debacle is over.

Sorry, old post. But did this ever get resolved? I'm on Kauai and have the same issue.
I took it to Rivian and paid out of pocket, then ended up filing a new claim with USAA and paid another $100 deduction to get it closed. I tried so hard to fight and fight to have it done on the original claim, USAA kept routing my calls straight to Safelite, who routed me back, and it was like this every time I called. I tried like 5 times, same bullshit.

I still need to switch insurance, already switched all my banking. That experience made me pretty bitter with USAA.

I had the same issue with safelite aligning the windshield terribly and not sealing the rain sensor resulting in a bubble. They came back out no questions asked and resealed it. I had gone to rivian after the first job to get recalibration done. Did not after the redo.

Did they reuse the rain sensor? That's a single-use part, once you pull it off, it's supposed to be trashed as the adhesive isn't meant for reapplication.

If you're going to switch I would check Mapfre Ins. if they cover where you live. Their AI pushed me to Safelite who couldn't recalibrate so I went to a certified collision center. Had to lay out $1500 up front for the glass but Mapfre covered it all plus my ferry tix to deliver and retrieve my R1T. My insurance is $1100/year for the truck.

There is something listed as 'kit' on the receipt for $40. Maybe that is the rain sensor? Works fine now.

They did it on Maui with Mobile Service? Installation and Calibration by Rivian?
