Canton MA Service and Demo Center...?

We went to look at booking a test drive for an R1S, and this popped up!!!

Any word on when this location will officially be open?

According to the service manager at Canton (who is currently also the interim service manager at Chelsea), it should be open sometime this month, maybe as soon as a week or two.

Actually, I just received word this morning that Canton will be live next week (we have a few trucks in need of service, so I've been in corespondence with the Service Manager directly regarding which location we will be taking our third truck in need of HVAC system attention—we just got one back from Chelsea, and one was recently dropped off there). I guess they will be moving half the trucks from Chelsea to Canton to pull them forward and reduce backlog (hallelujah ).

Awesome news ... I'm about 25 minutes from Canton compared to the endurance contest to get into Chelsea (while attempting to avoid a draw bridge). Will be huge for Southeastern MA.

I was in Chelsea on Friday and the guy said this week they are working on shifting some work to Canton so very soon maybe by end of the week.

Also Hudson NH might be October November time frame.

UPDATE!!! The Canton MA Service Center is expecting to be officially opening within the next couple of weeks. I was able to book an R1S test drive through that location for next weekend, and the site coordinator just called to confirm!

They do have vehicles on site now.

I was in the Canton area today so decided to stop by the future Service Center. Jesse from Rivian (very nice) was there waiting to for his demo drive appointment to show up. He gave me some details on the place and said it’s ready and just waiting on some final approvals from the town. Expecting to be officially open any day now but they are still doing the demo drives out of the parking lot. About 20-30 R1s in the lot along with a half dozen ~ mobile service vans. Hoping to have my Battery recall appointment out of there in the next couple weeks. Snapped a few pics while I was there … thrilled about this location (2 mins off 95N). Confirmed it will be for Service - Demos - New Vehicle delivery

I had a mobile service done yesterday and I took the opportunity to ask the tech about Canton. He said it's been ready from Rivian's perspective for a few months and they've just been waiting on permitting from the various entities (town, state, etc).

Also can confirm the "red tape" ... had my 12v Battery Replacement recall service done this week (shout out to Ray @ Rivian who was great) ... he said its in the town's hands ... now it looks like an October opening. Maybe they will be able to have a Halloween Party opening?

What's the hold up?! The Chelsea service center has been claiming Canton would be open shortly since mid July.

The chatbot on the main Rivian web site says Canton is taking appointments and it shows up in the app as a choice when I create a service request, but if I choose it it tells me that there are no available times.
