So have my fingers crossed I get a shipment notification soon. Really hoping to have it for our upcoming roadtrip.

Just got a response back from the support email that only one has been shipped and they’re still waiting on parts. Couple of weeks ago they said I am in the first 10 and I haven’t seen anything. So it may be a bit yet. Not the end of the world but confirms it won’t arrive in time for Xmas. Not sure why the discrepancy

Good to know. I almost figured at this point with how close we are to Christmas but held onto the hope. Not the end of the world but would have been nice.

I didn’t make the list of deliveries today ? was hoping that there wasn’t so much demand that there’d be more than one batch. Hopefully it’s just a delay over the weekend.

Got our units this morning. Installed one into my wife's R1S first, going to do my R1T next.

Overall went pretty well. The mounting bracket works very very well. There was no observable jitter in audio when playing.

A few things I ran into / have suggestions for.

1) there were two sticky clips included and possibly the smallest zip ties on the planet. Ideally would like to see another 4-6 clips included. I went with larger zip ties, which was important in the fusebox area to really clean up the cabling and make sure nothing could be close to the steering column which, runs very close to that.

2) the fuses in the suggested location in the R1S were a different kind/color, which threw me off initially. Would be good in the instructions to show a "before" picture, highlighting exactly which fuse to remove. All the pics I saw where with the tap in place.

3) Answering phone calls from the car play unit didn't work properly. The caller's audio could not be heard in the Rivian's audio over BT but the caller could hear my voice. If the call was answered from the Rivian's main screen, then it worked fine. Does phone audio only work through the device speakers if you answer the call from the device screen?

4) We tried airplay and it worked fine for Youtube but not Netflix ( this is mentioned ). However, we could not get Carplay to launch again after switching back. We had to clear the connections and reconnect them completely to get it to work.

Generally speaking, I think this is a good solution for having google maps/waze and also for using Sirius through the app. We would likely still use the main screen for nav on road trips where we expect to hit a charger so the automatic charger prep would start.

Going to be doing a 4 hour road trip tomorrow so we'll report back on how well that goes.

Definitely appreciate EV Sportline coming up with a solution for this, I've tried several other units and this seems to be far better than the others, with the notable exception of the phone answering issue.

I will say if Rivian were to significantly improve nav/maps and also with Sirius support coming, then not sure would need this as much. Those are really the only two Carplay things that matter to me.

@EVSportline Many thanks for shipping my order and receiving it yesterday. One of my best Christmas presents ever!

Installation was easy except the R1S fuse box is the most inaccessible one of any vehicle I've ever owned. Neither I nor my wife could reach the required fuse but thankfully my teenage daughter is home for Christmas and reached it no problem.

As far as the install, we decided to run the cable all the way across the top of the dash and down the left side which IMHO is the better way to go.

The only setup issue I haven't figured out yet is how to turn it off automatically after I lock the truck unless it will just timeout when the truck goes to sleep.

Regardless, I LOVE IT and would have easily paid double the price for it.
