All great questions! I think you are farther along in exploring offsite options than I was when I started this journey. I to live off grid. I have a 4.8 kW solar array powering Home. I too was looking for generator options to charge my R1 tea. The biggest challenge I found was that the truck does not like Standard manufactured sign wave coming from most generators. The truck simply won’t charge. So, I went to an inverter generator to get a clean, sign wave. Inverter generators typically power more sensitive electronic equipment. I purchased an 8.5 kW mobile inverter generator with 7KW running Watts. I can put about 50 miles on the truck in a few hours. So, that is a realistic expectation. I would be concerned if your propane fired 8KW generator can charge the truck first? Is there a I can put about 50 miles on the truck in a few hours. So, that is a realistic expectation. as for your second question, regarding adapters, yes, I have about five different adapters that I use with the fork prong 50 amp mobile charging head that comes with Rivian. I travel a lot and have several clients that allow me to charge my truck while I’m with them. And they all have different 30 amp circuits I can use. the adapters don’t seem to be an issue with mobile charging.
