If you're "friend" doesn't do this, then they are not worthy of Rivian ownership and Gary will come for them.

Yes, most do. also if you set your outlets to "Auto" every time you wake or drive the vehicle, the lights will be on. I've done it a few years on my R1T and I've had bus drivers and randoms in parking lots wave me down and just comment on how it either made their day, or thought it was the coolest thing ever. So yeah, it's awesome and a must.

We need a holiday lights mode where it can be set off a schedule and turns off when driving.

Most likely. Most states only allow red visible from behind and white from the front. Amber is technically allowed anywhere, but you might still get pulled over if you have a lot of them.

I have never had any issue with the law; this will be my third Christmas doing it. I wrap my crossbars with strings of lights. Anytime I am driving I always make sure my multicolor lights are steady burn and not flashing.

Yes. You can also do this with just about any ICE car sold in the last few years.

Yep. I had a Grand Cherokee with a 100v outlet. Just never thought about it.
Must have been the Halloween thing.
I miss the frog.

I used a 3D printed part to mount Christmas lights to the crossbars on my R1T last year. As others have mentioned, depending upon the colors that you use, you can run afoul with an overzealous police officer. I ran multi-colored lights for one day and then replaced them with all red to hopefully avoid any issues. In the Camp screen, set the lights to automatically turn on with the vehicle and optionally run for a little time after you park.

exactly as above mentioned. 120v in the trunk, outlet on auto. It’ll turn on when I walk up to the car and shut off when I leave.

As an added precaution, I removed all the blue lights from the outside and put them covered on the inside (if I have missing bulbs segments of my lights won’t turn on)

going to do it again this year. Last year I had an extra set of crossbars so I ran 3 to get the full length. This year I only have 2. Need to figure out a free way to string the lights between only 2 crossbars at the front and back positions. It’s too long without support and the lights just sway and hit the roof.
