I'm pretty sure the R1 keeps the battery above 32 when plugged in.

I've had my truck parked outside for the last few days, cloudy and high teens, low 20s out. The cabin has been a steady 34 degrees according to the app every time i check it.

I've read it's best to not keep the battery at 100%, more like 85%, then top off before heading out. Also that you want to be plugged in for shore power to keep the batteries warm. Just to clarify (haven't taken delivery yet), can I keep it plugged in and still limit charging to 85%?

So guys based on your experience with sub zero temperatures i need an advice:
Planning on going in a remote place with not unusual -20C temperatures and the closest charging is 100 km away , have to stay there over night , possibly two if truck allows; do you think this even possible on rivian and if so what SOC I should leave the charger with before heading to bunnies?

tried to park it outside at -2C and from 3pm till 7am next day it lost only 1km of range, worming up the seats , steering wheel and climate took another 5km of range which seems negligible, but at -20c have no idea what to expect.
