Any CO folks not put a front license plate on? Before I start researching “best Rivian license plate holder” I am considering just going with the rear.
I haven’t had one on my Tesla since 2020 not on the Rivian. My Mustang has a hidden bracket but I only put it on when on road trips or going to Denver. I hear Denver has more issues with it, but in Colorado Springs they don’t care unless you get hit up by a meter maid. Still haven’t had any issues with any of my cars *knocks on wood*

Thanks. I’m leaning towards doing the same. I will keep the plate handy and play ignorant if I get questioned on it.

I use and recommend this:

https://electruck4x4.com/products/snapplate-license-plate-mount-for-rivian-r1t-r1s

It's easy to install and just as quick to uninstall (literally press of a button), doesn't interfere with cameras or sensors. I'm in CO but know that when traveling through UT, NV and CA I'm likely to need it, or I'll just install it so there's no excuse for a pull-over that'll waste my time.

I wouldn't recommend this if you want a permanent install, as it won't (in my view) hold up to car washes, but it's pretty solid otherwise.

This product was recommended in a thread back in May. Looks pretty good.

I like the placement of that snapplate and the quick on/ off. The car wash thing worries me. I know I will probably forget it’s up there and drive through the wash at some point??‍♂

That one does look to be “built right” compared to some of the others ?

Some people were having trouble lining that one up without it setting off their sensors. Looks solid though.

I looked at front license plate holders but refused to pay $60 for a piece of 3D printed plastic. Never had one on my Tesla nor on my Rivian since March. No issues. When I’m Denver, I try to park in garages vs. street parking as the meter maids are really the only ones that enforce.

Yep. Exactly. I keep it at the bottom of my frunk and only install it when I think I need it driving through unfamiliar states that have the front plate requirement. I've found CO pretty relaxed (touch wood) and have only ever driven with the rear installed.

The secret is out for the future location of the Colorado Springs Service Center: 930 Newport Rd, Suite 100, Colorado Springs, CO 80916. https://goo.gl/maps/AsBDBcAFAfezKaeYA

Anyone live nearby tracking progress on this? I'm on the other side of town, but I'd love to take delivery in the Springs rather than Denver. The delivery estimate for our R1S is currently Q4 2023, but I'd like to push that off to Q1 2024 for CO tax credit purposes.

It's a $100 ticket from the meter maids too - I went ahead and put the front plate on my last vehicle after getting one of those.

They didn't put the front plate mount on for delivery even though I requested. Currently on the list to have addressed at my service appt next week, but now I'm waffling on whether I want it drilled.

The service rep giving us our First Mile Drive last week said the building is essentially done. They are waiting on final permits and inspections. He didn't know the timeline.

I was told October, but the hold up, as @Aardvark said, is supposedly permits, so who knows...

I also heard there is a fleet of electric service vans sitting in Denver ready to come down here and support this area.

Colorado crew I need some HELP!

Like most who are waiting for the Max Pack I am getting pushed more and more and need some advice on how the Large/Quad has been range wise in the mountains and on road trips around here.

My original date was August/Sept but since I had the 20" brights, they said they cant give me a date :(

86300 for my Max Pack, Performance Dual, Blue, AT, Undershield, Manual Tonneau, charger who knows when

OR

74000 for Quad, Launch green, 20 AT, Undershield, charger in a few weeks

Thoughts? Hope to see yall around soon.

Why did you select the max pack? with access to the supercharger network and all the new chargers coming online I think the max pack is not necessary unless you tow a lot.

@obababoy I’ve regretted not having enough range, and wasted an entire day waiting for a tow, but I’ll never regret the reverse.

That said, since you asked …
