And global average temperatures will continue to go up. Let's use oil for products that can be infinitely recycled and close the loop, remember the supply is finite.

I was just at Gaithersburg, MD center and they say they likely won't see R2 until July. Are R2 depositors comfortable configuring without having actually sat in or test-driven the car? How are others handling this?

Doesn't seem likely to happen soon, oil shortages are in our near future. It's already starting to hit the earliest part of the supply chain.

Well to be fair, I was half joking.! ;-).. meaning the volatility doesn’t allow any set point to last more than few hours or days..

But to be technical, the commodities and unfortunately EQUITIES mkt will focus on the Front month futures mkt price for WTI crude and BRENT (as you say) crude. And today, those ticked quick up 4.5% to 104.5, and $109… but for we in the USA it’s important to focus on what it actually COSTS to BUY a barrel of usable oil for distillates other than only gasoline and thats best estimated by the spot delivery price of gulf sour crude, which would be the MARS spot contracts, which top ticked to $118 today.

If you’re a refiner in the Louisiana basin and you need to pay for oil TODAY to keep making diesel mostly and you didn’t buy futures last week last month or last year, it’s $118.. and that’s one of the biggest reasons why diesel (up ~ 80%) has risen so much more than even gasoline (up ~55%). It’s made mostly from sour, not SWEET or wTI domestic, Permian basin crude.

I like the /cl ticker just to gauge smoothed out pricing, but at this point its keying in mostly in the July26 contract, which isn’t indicating what the current mkt price is for refiners.. and ultimately the cost of gasoline and diesel for domestic consumers..

No worries though, these will all be higher soon enough. We haven’t seen the highs yet in my opinion.

I have test driven R1 and just sat in a R2 last week in Atlanta. I know everyone is different, but I would take the R2 without test driving in a heartbeat. Also, I heard from some who registered that they will wait because they want either different colors or interior that are not available in the LE version or they are looking for the cheaper model, and some are even waiting for LDIR coming at the end of the year.

Maybe I will get mine (LE) sooner than expected

I figured the upgraded paints would be $1500, and they are, EXCEPT the high profile colors like CC.. at $2K.. the only positive is, that the $2K price SHOULD reduce some potion of CC buyers, and therefore it will be easier out here at least to FIND your CC R2 in the parking lot. ;-)
