Hi everyone,

I have a Gen 2 R1T, around 5K miles. The last few days there has been a 1 second rattle under the hood, followed by a 6-7 second pause, then the cycle starts over.

There are no warnings displayed and the vehicle runs perfectly.

The rattling cycle used to stop 2-3 minutes after the vehicle shuts off. The last day the rattling cycle will not stop. The rattling cycle continues throughout the day and night.

The only thing I can think of is maybe it's the air suspension?

I have a service center appointment, but the soonest they can get me in is in 6 weeks (I have a request for an earlier appt).

Anyone know what it may be? It's annoying, but if the cycle doesn't shut off I won't be able to take hearing it rattle for 6 more weeks.

My current guess is heat pump. Can you open the frunk, maybe pull off the easy to remind cladding (front and back strips) and let it run? See if you can further isolate the sound and location? Also try with heat/AC on or off, then entire HVAC system on then off.

I did isolate the sound to directly behind the passenger front tire. I've not tried to remove the cladding.

I have tried it with the HVAC in/off, on AC and heat, still rattles continuously :(

Mine has done that sound a few times. I have no idea what it is, and it's on a scarce occasion that I've heard it.

I think that's where the heat pump is, could be wrong, I'm in a Gen1.
