I've had the R1T for one month now, and it's an amazing machine.

I recently went on a road trip for the 4th of July (about 700 miles round trip).

When I hopped in the truck to go to work on Tuesday, I noticed it had started to make a creaking sound when initially accelerating or when the truck is almost to a complete stop. I found out I could replicate the sound by "rocking" on the accelerator at slow speeds.

My question is this- has anybody else dealt with this? If so, what's the underlying issue?

Yes. Mines currently at the SC for that to be fixed. There are couple of things going on down there.

1. Clicking/Clacking when on/off accelerator - was told this is fixed by tightening some bolts (will see when I get it back)
2. Clunking - was told this is fixed by adding more grease to fill in the slack in the axle?
3. Squeaking in suspension (was told this is a bad design on the shocks and they are working on a replacement)

All of this I can't confirm is fixed till I get my truck back...

I'm not sure if I consider this a problem, but I'm looking for feedback about how many people are experiencing a similar behavior before I put in a service request.

At slow speeds, especially when set to high regen, my truck is making a 'tocking' sound when starting out or coming to a stop. I'm thinking there is a bit of slop in one or more of the motors, the half shaft, and/or the axel. I can make it sing the song of its people by basically rocking the truck back and forth using the accelerator.

I recall @OutofSpecKyle mentioning it in one of his videos and being fairly dismissive of it, but I'm uncertain if that is because the truck was a short-term loaner. It really doesn't bother me, honestly.

So, what say you - are you experiencing something similar? Would you start a repair order on it? Please vote in the poll and share your thoughts.
I have a sound but not the "knock" in the video above, it is more of a distinctive "click" vs. a "tock". I am also pretty sure the truck didn't have this sound at delivery but developed over time.

I had something sounding almost identical. Mine would also do it when turning the wheels while at a stop - this made it easy to crawl under and find the issue.
The creaking on mine was from the front lower a-arm suspension bolt. I loosened the nut, threw on some antisieze and the noise completely went away.

I have the same issue, same sounds. Guess I will call in and start a ticket on this amongst my few other issues.

@omamatt let us know if the issues were resolved when you get your truck back.

@Dirty_B yeah... Fortunately I don't think it's anything too serious. Unfortunately it's the only thing I hear now. I have service scheduled in two weeks (trying to combine a few issues into one appointment since the closest SC is 270 miles away). I'll keep everyone posted.

Mine went to RVA SC over the weekend for 9 other issues. Hoping they can lump it in with the other things getting worked on. There are other threads on this forum about it. Doubt it'll get "fixed" but ATT just want it acknowledged and recorded by them as one of the trucks with the suspension issue.

If they do indeed find some miracle cure, i'll post back.

Here's mine...[Sarcasm] I guess they never encountered this issue when driving the Pan American highway or in their testing. [/Sarcasm]

Mine just started doing this one.. 5k miles. Would like to fix myself if possible, but need to know what is. If anybody figures this one out...it is greatly appreciated!

My internet sleuthing says this noise is possibly half shaft spline noise from the main nut not being tightened adequately or that that a small amount of grease possibly being used during assembly, is hydrolocking a small chamber between axle and hub, causing false torqueing (no idea if that is even a word...but we all know what I mean) and when grease dissipates, the slight looseness allows spline movement. Armchair stuff so I might be completely off on this, but it is a theory...

I have this faint creek as well. Front Left only, or so I think. I will use my lift and see what I can find as time allows. Mine is only from a dead stop to 3mph if that...

Ours just started doing this in the last week as well (~1500 miles).

I have a mobile tech coming out tomorrow, but when they called me, they said they couldn't just add it to the service call, which is really lame. Something about it might change it to be an in-shop fix (I just want them to look at it).

I'm planning on asking the tech about it in person instead. If they can't fix it, then I'll file a proper ticket.

When I get the Dirty Bastard back from the shop, and if they correct, I'll report back. Right now all techs at RVA SC are out sick until mid week earliest....UUgghh.
