Quotes meant two Elon/Tesla weeks…. Translation: Some unspecified time period that is much greater than two chronological weeks…

Does Rivian automatically deselect high ride height above a certain speed? Our Land Rover does this at 25 mph and I heard it was to protect the CV joints. I wonder if Rivian should be limiting max torque when in high ride height, too. At least until they figure out what’s killing the drivetrain components.

All purpose is limited to 45 mph in high. Off road modes are allowed to go faster.

And rally mode allows high / soft / reduced or off TC and max top speed so the engineers must have planned for the drive train loads at high suspension settings / speed.

I seem to recall the the longer half-shafts on the Rivians reduce the angle at higher suspension settings, but it could be that Rivian got too ambitious with high speeds and high torque through these components when the suspension geometry is far from standard.

Torque is definitely limited in the higher settings.

I fear they are going to limit max torque s00n on all of them...for many of these reasons...

One thing I noticed when moving in driveway, is at higher settings, the steering stops self centering and instead starts to want to go to full lock in either direction, at some point in steering angle. I am sure that is another reason to limit speed up high.

I’m curious how common this is. This truck has 6500miles. Sub 4k vin.

Put your truck in all purpose mode, (or rally) set it to high, and give it full throttle. Do you have the noise?
