Well, that is interesting. Out of curiosity I dropped a $250 deposit on the Cybertruck just over two weeks ago (I cancelled my previous CT reservation and bought an R1T). Today I got an invite to configure my foundation series for delivery in next few weeks. So apparently if you would like a CT you can reserve one today and order your FS almost immediately. It looks like the "2 million" reservations = 11,600 Foundations series through end of June so let's say between 15k - 17k FS trucks. Good news for those waiting for the non-FS versions, they should be coming any day.

They could offer delivery in 30 minutes or less and I wouldn’t take one for free.

I think I heard that lately, the CT‘s have been the top selling EV p/u. I figured it was only because they were burning through their waiting list. Now, that the list seems to be disappearing, I‘ll be curious to see how sales hold up.

They wont. Also, Tesla doesn’t have an R1S like Rivian does, so nothing is going to take its place.

The R1T was always going to be a low volume truck in the long run, the R1S was always going to be the sales leader.

Remember how wild it was when all those Domino's drivers were crashing trying to get those pizzas out in 30 minutes or less..... Those were the days....

Have a reservation as well for one. Then on Tuesday I wired the remaining balance for our R1S G2, that we picked up yesterday and about four hours later I received an invite to design our Cybertruck.

I don't understand how there's a wait when for example in south FL we have 8 or 9 lots with hundreds of them sitting, a few lots even had a few hundred vandalized a few weeks ago. IDK... the wait doesn't make sense to me, i'm starting to think lots of pre order but low conversion sales rates

I reserved one and bought Rivian instead. I agree lots of reservations and little conversion.

It makes sense that the sales are dropping off. I think the days of disposable income are pretty much gone, inflation rules the coop now.

I remember 2 years ago when Rivian announce the 12-20% price increase, and most of us, including me, scoffed at that, and many canceled their order...

Now lets remember what Tesla said the CT was supposed to sell for, at $39,900.. Then in November 2023, they announced the 53-64% price increase... You saw how many people cancelled their R1 orders for the 12-20% increase.... Imagine getting the 64% sticker shock!

No, it was the edge of a closing frunk...
At least it wasn't inside the gear tunnel.

Is Tesla still not doing test drives? Have to buy it without ever touching it? The drive in the R1T really sold it particularly to my wife. Normally I don't test drive cars, but these are very different from normal cars.

I think there are a lot of reservations still out there, but most are now waiting for the regular CTs to start getting built. Why pay $20+K premium for the foundation edition ? There's a lot of talk about doing that in the tesla forums. I have a reservation, and had the e-mail a few weeks back to configure too. Nope. I'm just hanging on to it to see the options once they switch to regular builds, although it's purely for curiosity. I'll get a refund at some point.
