It has already been explained to you by posters in this thread and Rivian has already told you it’s a requirement. Feel free to also use your Google skills.
Google skills:
What Is A Destination Charge?
A destination charge is a fee associated with delivering a new car from the factory to its point of sale, which is typically a dealership. Manufacturers levy destination charges in order to recoup the costs that come from preparing the car for transportation at the factory, transporting it from the factory to the dealership, then getting it ready to go on sale at the dealership. Sometimes the words delivery, processing, handling, or freight are used in place of destination, but they all refer to the same thing.

If you don’t want to believe Rivian or anyone in this thread, either don’t buy a Rivian or call a lawyer and have them sue Rivian on your behalf.

You aren’t going to achieve anything posting here.

Based on your reservation date, your getting pre price increase pricing and getting the vehicle at an amazing price. Look at the overall cost and enjoy the deal we are getting.

Destination fees are amortized across all deliveries. It’s why the fee is the same for someone who purchases a mile from the manufacturer as someone who purchases across the country from the manufacturer. Rivian is both the manufacturer and the dealership.

You won’t win this one. And, it’s completely non-unique to Rivian. If you’ve ever purchased a new vehicle before, you’ve paid this.

Cost covers vehicle delivered to a dealership
….and the same fee is averaged out and charged to everyone, regardless of distance from the factory, regardless of manufacturer of the vehicle. If you don’t want to pay the destination fee cancel your order and go pay a destination fee on whatever you buy instead.

I might. At least they will deliver the vehicle to a nearby dealer. In this case, Rivian will not deliver it. I was simply looking to see if anyone else was in the same predicament.

Bro if you're pre price hike you're saving over 10K on the truck simply because of Rivian's goodwill. Yet you still want to complain about this fee? IDK man I don't think you have a leg to stand on here.

I get it. I have a choice to make
Everyone before you who has had a Rivian factory delivery has paid the destination fee. Do you really think you will be any different?

People have explained to you ad nauseam this is a standard non-negotiable fee and the rationale regarding how and why the fee is calculated.

You have no hope of getting out of this if you want a Rivian or any other new car.

Delivery fees are the same when delivered from the factory to the factory parking lot and/or staging area, a house across the street, a dealership in Hawaii, or someone’s non-dealership personal residence in Alaska.

If you cancel your order based on this, I bet both your Guide and Rivian will be relieved.

Shrink, you don’t have to be a jerk about it. I understand completely. It’s just a bit of a grey area, since they won’t deliver the vehicle. No need to respond.
