Charging pad works fine with my Pixel 5 and minimalist case.

My biggest question for you is: what do the folks at McDonald's say when you pull up in a $90k truck?
My local Micky D's just confirms if I wanted everything Supersized.

There it is! Well glad we confirmed it's some kind of shared automotive connector. Was finding nothing similar on DigiKey and getting worried. Next step is tracking down the style / name and hope it's something we can actually order.
I went through digikey and mouser, nothing. Arrows site wasn't working properly.

I really do not understand why turning wireless charging off isn't an option yet.

I would hope it is independently powered by a software switchable digital output, but maybe not. It's possible it's on a common power circuit with other devices.....

I guess I’m missing why everyone is having such an issue with the charge pad. My phone charges every time I put it on the pad and it never slides. I’m not doing any aggressive driving, but what am I missing?
For me, my phone doesn't have wireless charging, but it does have a magnet in the back of the case to mount on various things. With the wireless pad plugged in and the phone on top it would cause issues like the screen freaking out and the phone heating up.

I think you are missing the fact that many do not have your excellent experience with the wireless charger actually charging their phones consistently ?

Probably on the same circuit as the other USB power only plugs(seatbacks, rear of centre console)

It's disappointing to learn that the performance is so mediocre. This unit is made for Rivian by Delta Electronics (FCCID 2A2EZVW30ACAP, VWPEN16C-30ACAPB, Model PT00062426-B) and has 18 Qi coils in it, and is supposed to provide 15W (CISPR-25). Also supports the CAN interface and should have the CAN BUS vocabulary to enable or disable through CAN BUS control. No way to disable the charging pad from the center console? If not, I think that's a Rivian software issue.

Here are the electrical specs:

Rivian R1T R1S Disabling Wireless Charging Pad - Photos & Observations 1651989449794

9V at 5.6A (Max) is 50W. All to get 15W of wireless Qi charging power. Yeah, that's worse-case, max load, but still... Even if charging two devices, that's still quite lossy - specs claim 68% efficiency. But wireless charging sucks and we all already knew that. The coil arrangement is gratuitous:

You'd think after seeing all that overlap that the performance of this thing would be mind blowing...

Here's the main board + fan:

A picture in the external photo exhibits at the FCC shows an interesting cable that would help easily identify the primary power vs. CAN bus connections:

I think we all agree the built in Rivian wireless charger is worthless. The Mag charger installed works in the sense that it holds my phone and consistently shows that it is charging. However the charge rate is mediocre. On a 45 minute drive it may charge my phone about 1%. I guess at least its not losing power.

That should be it. Nice find!

H-DAC 64, 4 Way Receptacle Assembly

Is what the other end of the cable is.
