I have a hell of a time reading some of the display numbers, be it miles or % batteries remaining, music/radio functions, settings, etc. Pretty much across the board....anyone know how to remedy this? Change display / font size of specifics or all displays?

I've been thinking about starting a thread imploring RJ to start hiring people over 70 years old.

Overall, our work isn't any better or worse than the younger workers, but seniors would TELL him that the farther the information is from our eyeballs, the harder it is to focus and the larger the font has to be.

The placement of odometer, clock, and outside thermometer is ridiculous; stupid; and completely unnecessary. Some of the most important information is placed in the most difficult location for most drivers over 50 years old -- and in small fonts, which adds insult to injury for senior drivers.

Best wishes!

I have old man eyes. Some days I can read the battery % level easily, and other days I can’t.

There is a lot of space on that display to make those itty-bitty-outta-ficus number easier for those of us who do t have the ability to focus as sharp any more.

if Apple can do this on the tiny iPhone screen and make it work consistently, so can Rivian

The MPH display is huge & great, I can't believe this isn't adjustable! I was fully expecting this group or Rivian to give me a couple options, nothing? This is crap & unbelievable....an update? It's a game changer for me & I'm only 51. That shouldn't matter, quick glance to important gauges like speed, battery, nav, radio, settings, etc. an absolutely must. Fix it

Are you on the latest vehicle software update? It might not help much, but they did make the font a bit bigger.

I did notice a font change, so yes on the latest update. The battery mileage left is still microscopic, but yes did like the graphics update other than that. They are far away from a simple concept of display being adequate, an $80K vehicle with impeccable performance. Riv, get it taken care of

I’ll join your group to plead a case for this! I’m in my mid-50s and lucky enough to have decent vision without corrective lenses so this isn’t a big problem for me, yet. My husband, on the other hand, struggles with the presentation of most text on the Rivian displays. For whatever reason, Rivian put big, beautiful displays in the front row and then routinely underutilize them.

There is WAY too much white space on the driver’s display given how many people are asking for typical information on it like time, temperature, and (gasp!) an odometer.

The center display drive mode screen has those really slick graphics which I just swipe away from to get real information. Then there is the issue where while charging you can either see one set of information or another (like miles per hour or kW, IIRC) but not both. Again, way too much real estate is devoted to white space. I really think Rivian needs to offer multiple modes for the presentation of information: simplified or detailed as examples and then allow us to at least give us the option to set the system font to bold.

edit: typo

I concur with the request for larger fonts. The latest update did make a big difference - I think it's my favorite part of the update and that's saying something given all of the improvements. But there's still more opportunity to help those with 'less capable' eyes.

I suspect a long time ago Rivian made the decision to have "operating environment" information on the driver's display. Thus things like speed, battery range, nav, m/KWh all make sense - they are all part of information on the vehicle's current operation. Unfortunately, clock, odometer, etc are not part of the current vehicle operations - and thus they're relegated to the center screen. Just my suspicion. They'll have to revisit this philosophy first, before contemplating any information placement changes.

Same goes for the app, I did mention it a while back that they should use the phones set font size, and they seem to have fixed that for most parts, but not all. I totally agree, it's difficult to read the small fonts on the driver portion, and so much wasted white space. I would really like to see the display with the speed moved to the center and allow us to put the currently playing music on one of the sides, more like how tesla does it.

Not sure the reason we need to have the whole center part of the display show a vehicle and it's surroundings...I'm not watching that as I drive, I can see those cars out my windshield just fine! Those graphics of other vehicles could be shrunk down to make more useable space in the center for your speed, and allow us to have a selected widget on the right side, just like on the left.

Except they are inconsistent: we get to see ride height and mode on the driver’s display but not ride comfort or regen setting. To check those I have to go back to the center display. You could make the argument that we’ll know the level of regen as soon as we start to rely on it, but I’d rather not be surprised. I think the ride comfort is as important to show as the ride height given how the overall comfort is related to both.

Our 2006 Land Rover had two monochrome LCDs with display area no larger than a business card on one and about half that on the other. They somehow managed to legibly display time, freeze warning snowflake, outside temperature, information/warning text, and selectable trip computer info, like range, on the larger one plus selected gear, transmission mode, odometer, and trip odometer on the smaller one.

Rivian should be able to legibly display the information currently shown and add a meaningful amount of information given the real estate they have available on that screen in front of the driver. It sure seems like they’re prioritizing aesthetics over readability and function (by omitting info considered standard by most drivers of modern cars) so I think they need to re-prioritize or give drivers a choice of views:
1. High fashion, as we have now
2. High function

They already do this with the pretty graphic or useful data on the center display.

edit: missed a word

Thank you for starting this thread. The small font size has been a big issue for me as well, especially when wearing sunglasses. It got a little better with the new font but is still too small. I would love a larger font size or the ability to change it. It would make driving so much better.

I also agree that the driver’s screen could/should include much more info and prettier graphics. I love the idea of having that screen but feel it could be put to much better use.
