I have been waiting to buy the Rivian power tonneau cover. But because of delays needed something more immediate. I considered one of the manual options but the price seemed high especially since I still plan to buy the powered option.
So I decided to just do DIY for the time being. I don’t need all weather, and just need to secure my gear from time to time.
Original plan was just to paint some plywood and call it good. But I attempted something a little bit more factory look.
This is 15/32 plywood siding. Coated in liquid rubber on one side stained on the other. Then lined with aluminum channel to protect the edges and assist in sliding in. Regular D gasket at the tailgate for a tighter seal.
it’s not perfect but I’m happy with it.
$300 for materials.
