I have the OEM Pirelli Scorpion HL275/50 R22 116H All Season Tires. Does it look like I need to replace these? The outer edge of the tread looks shallower than the tread on the inside part of the tire, but look at how much tread is still left above perpendicular tire-wear indicator bar, If you zoom in.

Did you ever rotate tires as part of maintenance routine? And is this front or rear? That much wear on the outside would point to incorrect alignment; excessive toe-in. Or too much hard cornering/plowing.

Front tires wear outside tread more. Rotate them to the rear axle and you should be ok for some time. I think you should rotate them to rear axle on the same side.

These are actually on the rear. They were originally on the front.

Does riding high vs riding low make a difference in camber?

Slightly, camber will change with ride height more inner wear in low and more outer wear in high, usually optimized for standard height.

You should start planning for replacement or schedule it soon. At that amount of wear on OEM Pirelli's I noticed in heavy rain my T was definitely not as planted especially on moderate speed turns (i.e. on ramps) where it slid a bit. Nothing squarely or dangerous, but I really didn't have an excuse at that point to not replace.

21" Defenders were put on the following weekend as Discount Tire had 3/4 and had to order one.

Technically yes but practically probably not much, if at all.

G1 R1S 22" on low 95% of the time for 26k miles+. Original OE was Scorpion Zero AS that developed blister on the sidewall at 17K and replaced. New is Michelin LTX M/S2 now for 9k miles. Neither showed any excessive wear inside or outside. Wears evenly and rotated at 7.5K miles

The image of the tire, if it was my vehicle, I would replace the tires immediately. The way I think about any tire is that cliche - that's where the rubber meets the road.

Tires are the single most important thing when it comes to handling, accelerating, braking, ride quality and road noise. It is also a critical item when it comes to road safety so I replace my tires as it nears 2/32 indicator.

If they were on my truck, I'd replace them. The best way to tell if it is time is to put a tire gauge on them and measure the depth. If they are in the red on the gauge (which is 3/32" on my gauge then it's time). I believe most states say 2/32" is the minimum.

Running tires this bald increases your stopping distance, ability for the tire to evacuate water, and dissipate heat ... all of which can contribute to a loss of control or increase chances in an accident. At the end of the day it's your call however, for me, it's not worth possibly hitting someone/something in a sudden panic stop, to hydroplane off the road during a rainstorm, or have a blowout on the freeway in the middle of no where on a 100 degree day.

Thanks everyone for the advice. This is the type of thing where I thought, I already knew the answer, but asked
the question in the hope that I could’ve been wrong.. Having this information is useful when I explain to my wife why we are replacing the tires already after only one year.
