@MidnightRivian, is A2Z one of your paying clients?

I don't mind paid promotions, which can be very helpful -- but in my world (health care) any financial conflict of interest has to be disclosed when promoting anything.

Best wishes!

I'd be interested if the '26 R1s can charge at the Ionna chargers that have the NACS plugs. I say this because last time I was at the one in Abilene, KS I was talking/watching a guy unsuccessfully try to charge his R1S using a NACS adapter. The six CCS stations were full and the four NACS station were empty.

I am an affiliate for both A2Z EV and Lectron. I left a disclaimer in my signature and in the post. Thanks for the feedback.

Rivian will sell you a DC adapter for $300. A2Z has one for less than half the price - and may be just as good or better.
And Rivian is not supplying the promised L2 NACS adapters. Inquiries have been radio silent for weeks.

When I took delivery, I was asked to sign a paper saying I had not received a J1772 to NACS L2 AC adapter as they were out of supply. They said I would receive one in 2-3 weeks. When I went to the R1S though, there is was, in a nice little cardboard box. Now I have 2 since I had one for my now-discarded Model Y. If anybody in the Lake Tahoe area needs one let me know and you can come grab it.

It will be a mistake if Ionna continues locking down the NACS station to only Telsa as the Tesla people have plenty of Supercharger option for less money.
So you're jumping to this conclusion and proclaiming that Ionna is "locking down" the NACS ports, on the basis of watching one guy fumbling with an adapter at one station?

In this case, simply checking Plug Share for that particular charger you would see that there ARE non-Tesla EVs using the NACS ports at that site. That's also true of the other nearby Ionna chargers on I-70. I don't see ANY reports of a non-Telsa failing to charge at a NACS port on these chargers.

Any accusation that Ionna is deliberately restricting access deserves a little more supporting evidence than "some guy told me".

As far as I know, the ONLY charging company that deliberately restricts access to other manufacturers as a long-term strategy is Tesla. While the Rivian RAN initially rolled out with Rivian-only access, they always said it would be opened up and have by now replaced most of their hardware with unrestricted access, so that's happening. Tesla on the other hand will not ever open up the V1 and V2 chargers and they have shown no inclination to open up the large number of V3 and V4 chargers that have been software-restricted to work only for Teslas.

Anecdotal. That car may have just needed a hard reset or that person had issues with their payment method. Not enough evidence to prove the entire network is incompatible with Rivians.

Jesus guys relax. All I know is I watched him try three times with the Rivian supplied adapter and it failed every time. Then he moved to a CCS that had opened and charged just fine. Glad to know the NACS chargers are supposed to work with non-teslas.

Never said the entire network. The CCS plugs were working with Rivian just fine. Well not just fine. Our '25 R1S went below 100kw very quickly even though at a low SOC. And it was 80 degrees out.
