Does anyone's 4-way lumbar actually work? I can get mine to go in/out, but it does not appear to do anything when pushing up or down.

Mine works every direction, though haven't tested it with memory function since I've been the only driver.

Service told me that the software doesn't support lumbar memory... Even though the software prompts you to save the position when you move it...

For me:
Left/right buttons work (inflating balloon in lower back region).
Up/down appears to do nothing. It would be helpful to know what it's supposed to do.

Can someone whose 4-button action works explain what the up/down does?

Mine moves up and down very slowly. I initially thought it did not work.

I had to adjust it quite substantially into my back before I could mentally register it was moving up and down. It’s a slow motion on mine.

Mine doesn’t seem to work either. Maybe it’s just slow as others have said.

It’s not just slow. I have held it down until the servo stops spinning but there is not perceptible change.

If you fully “inflate” the lumbar against your back, the vertical button SLOWLY moves the lumbar pressure up/down your back. I can only feel it move when the lumbar is fully deployed. You should also be able to hear the vertical adjustment engaging. There is not much vertical travel in it but nice for different torso sizes or to adjust pressure points on long trips.

I do hear the servo, but I see/feel NO difference in vertical position. I've recorded a video with the lumbar all that way inflated and my hand pressed against it while adjusting all the way up/down with no difference and submitted a service ticket to Rivian asking for more information on what the intended function is. Their original response was "we'll take a look" when it's at the SC next, which is fine, although I would like them to provide more information on what they intend it to do, first.

Good luck with a fix. I’m estimating mine has about 3-4 in of vertical travel
