I’ve only used CarPlay so not sure what dedicated Apple Music apps are capable of.

My Apple Music app isn’t buggy at all but lacks a share function.

Who and why would you shareplay what's in your car? I used it once so the wife and I could listen to the same thing on a motorcycle ride.

People in the back seat, people you don’t want messing up your algorithm with their music.

So they'd share FROM their phone TO your Rivian? Interesting, wonder if that could work.

My algorithm can't possibly be made weirder than what I already do to it. I'm just as likely to play Taylor Swift and Britney as I am to play Korn and System of a Down and Sleep Token.

And I'd never want country crap in there, but would shoot someone if they played it.

Correct. People anywhere in the car can scan the QR code on screen to have access to the Up Next playlist and add the songs they want to listen to. It does not mess up your personal library, favorites, preferences etc..

I don't think playing someone else's music would do any of that, only your all-time plays. My wife's eclectic stuff has never shown up again after she plays it.

I doesn't mess up your library as long as you don't save or favorite anything, but it definitely does mess with your recommendations in terms of suggested playlists, songs, and artists on the home screen, as well as the songs that play in "radio" channels. My Apple Music account is now pretty sure I am a 16 year old girl, since my daughter and her friends controlled the tunes in my truck while driving them to and from school last year.

Looks like you're missing some Five Finger Death Punch...

Pretty sure it varies based on frequency or number of plays. Since I play Apple Music often on my HomePods and while working, I think I keep it "clean" from the occasional different material.

I'm also pretty sure that my listening habits are often like a 16 year old girl. Recently learned what K-Pop is, and that I like it.
